Revoking the Declaration of Main Highways and Declaring Public Highways to be Main Highways

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that on and after the 1st day of April 1954 the main highways described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highways, and further declares that as from the 1st day of April 1954 the roads described in the Second Schedule shall be main highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ROAD DISTRICT NO. 2A
Beach Road.—All that main highway or portion of main highway in the Waitemata County, declared as the Beach Road Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2 July 1928, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 5 July 1928.
Albany–Brown’s Bay.—All that main highway or portion of main highway in the Waitemata County, declared as the Albany–Brown’s Bay Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 14 January 1932, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 21 January 1932.
Takapuna–Silverdale.—All that main highway or portion of main highway in the Waitemata County, declared as the Takapuna–Silverdale Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2 October 1940, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 10 October 1940.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ROAD DISTRICT NO. 2A
Beach Road.—All that road or portion of road in the Waitemata County, commencing from a point opposite the north-eastern corner of Lot 1 of Block III on D.P. 9855 (being part Allotment 189, Takapuna Parish), deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction, and terminating at a point opposite the mouth of the Awaruku Creek in Block XVI, Waiwera Survey District, being a distance of 18 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 143119, deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Albany–Brown’s Bay.—All that road or portion of road in the Waitemata County, commencing at its junction with the Birkenhead–Maungaturoto Main Highway at Albany, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction via Oteha Road, and terminating at its junction with the Takapuna–Silverdale Main Highway at a point opposite the easternmost corner of Lot 7 on D.P. 18425, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being a distance of 2 miles 18 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 143119, deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
Takapuna–Silverdale.—All that road or portion of road in the Waitemata County, commencing from a point opposite the south-eastern corner of Allotment 174, Paremoremo Parish, in Block IV, Waitemata Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction, and terminating at a point opposite the easternmost corner of Lot 7 on D.P. 18425, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being a distance of 1 mile 60 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 143119, deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Streets off Bassett Street, in the City of Christchurch, Subject to a Condition as to the Building Line

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 15 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1953 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Christchurch City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed streets described in the Schedule hereto at a width for part of their length of less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft., subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on the plan marked P.W.D. 143317, referred to in the said Schedule, within a distance of 48 ft. from the centre lines of the said streets.
SCHEDULE
THAT proposed street in the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 16·7 perches, more or less, being part Lot 2, D.P. 13377, being part Rural Section 24361.
That proposed street in the said land district and city, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 11·5 perches, more or less, being part Lot 2, D.P. 13377, being part Rural Section 24361.
That proposed street in the said land district and city, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 15·2 perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 and part Lot 2, D.P. 13377, being part Rural Section 24361.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 143317, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby approves of the resolution passed by the Auckland City Council on the 13th day of May 1954, and set out in the First Schedule hereto, in so far as it affects the sides, street, and portion of street described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
THE Auckland City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Auckland, by resolution declares that the provisions of section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928 shall not apply to the eastern side of Gudgeon Street and the southern side of Hargreaves Street fronting the proposed subdivision of part of Allotment 16, Section 8, Suburbs of Auckland, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 25, folio 98 (Auckland Registry).
