For the purpose of taking evidence on the review of these tariff items, the Board will hold a public inquiry commencing on Wednesday, 15 September, 1954, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, First Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington.

Any person who intends to tender evidence should comply with the notes for the guidance of witnesses (2nd edition) which have been approved by the Board. A copy of these notes may be obtained from the office of any Collector of Customs or from the undernamed.

A typewritten statement of the evidence to be tendered, compiled in accordance with these notes of guidance, should be lodged with the undernamed on or before Wednesday, 1 September 1954. Each statement will in general need to be presented under oath at the public inquiry by the person tendering it.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936
Pharmacy Industry
R. F. Brook, Main Road, Glenfield, Auckland, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Hauraki Street, Highbury, Auckland.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit
A. W. Gerken, care of Tuatapere Post Office, Southland, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from two pumps to be installed at proposed service-station and garage premises at Mandeville.
P. P. Martin, Raumati South, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station premises, corner of Poplar Avenue and Glen Road, Raumati South.
E. M. Christian, Te Pahu, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage and service-station premises at Te Pahu.
Rex Baker Ltd., Hawarden, North Canterbury, has applied for licences to resell motor spirit from: (1) one pump to be installed on garage premises at Hawarden; and (2) one pump to be installed on garage premises at Culverden.
H. A. Schneebli, Puketaha, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at corner of Puketaha and Main Hamilton-Gordonton Roads, Puketaha.
S. Underwood, Apex Tea-rooms, Main Highway, Coal Creek, Roxburgh, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on premises at Main Highway, Coal Creek, Roxburgh.
M. J. Crapp, Omokoroa Beach, R.D., Tauranga, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Omokoroa Beach, R.D., Tauranga.
J. Parr, Lakeside Store, Kingston, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Kingston.
J. O. Leary, Belgrove Hotel, via Nelson, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on hotel premises at Belgrove, via Nelson.
W. A. Anderson, Duvauchelle, Banks Peninsula, has applied for permission to take over motor spirits retail licence from Duvauchelle’s Service-station Ltd., and to change retail selling point to a new position 80 ft. away and on opposite side of street at Duvauchelle.
Carr Bros. Ltd., James Street, Whangarei, has applied for permission to shift one pump from its present position inside garage premises at James Street, Whangarei, to a proposed new position outside and 24 ft. distant.
W. J. Taylor, Lake Hawea, Central Otago, has applied for permission to shift one pump from its present position on Makaroa Road, Lake Hawea, to a new site a quarter of a mile distant on Hawea Flat Road.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 8 July 1954, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.
