SELWYN COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Counties Act 1920, the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Selwyn County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a Loan of twelve thousand pounds (£12,000) authorized to be raised by the Selwyn County Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of erecting staff houses, the said Selwyn County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine sixty-fourths (9/64ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Council's district; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed at an ordinary meeting of the Selwyn County Council held at Hororata on the 12th day of April 1954, notice of intention having been duly published in compliance with the provisions of the Rating Act 1925.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Security Rate—Beecrescourt Sewer Loan 1953 of £101,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Hamilton City Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £101,000 authorized to be raised by the Hamilton City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing sewers, sewer drains, and drainage works, including the cost of all necessary labour and materials, engineers’ fees, plans and specifications, plant and tools, the purchase of any required land, the payment of compensation to the owners of property in respect of such work, and the cost of raising the loan, the said Hamilton City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five and one-tenth pence (5.1d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the Beeres court special rating area (namely, that area of the City of Hamilton bounded on the east by the Waikato River, on the south by the boundary of the City as it was prior to the 1st April 1949, and on the north and west by the boundary of the city as it is today; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Hamilton City Council at a duly constituted meeting held on the 14th day of April 1954.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,300 to be known as the Tahunanui Motor Camp Loan 1954 authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a sanitary and utility block, and laying out additional camp sites at the west end of the motor camp at the Tahuna Sands Reserve, the said Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-one five-hundred-and-twelfths of a penny (21/512d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Nelson comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 23rd day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Nelson City Council at a special meeting held on the 26th day of March 1954.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,600 to be known as the Tahunanui Drainage Extension Loan 1954 authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out extensions to the sewerage works now being carried out in the former Town District of Tahunanui, the said Nelson City Council hereby makes a special rate of twenty-three five-hundred-and-twelfths of a penny (23/512d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Nelson comprising the whole of the said City; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 23rd day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
