In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the
matter of CRESCENT MILK BAR LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-
up of the above-named company by the Supreme
Court was on the 30th day of March 1954 presented to
the said Court by Lorna Jolly, of Dunedin, wife of Arthur
Vernon Jolly, of Dunedin, Restauranteur, and that the said
petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at
Dunedin on the 7th day of May 1954, at 10 o'clock in the
forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said
company desirous to support or oppose the making of an
order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing
in person or by his counsel for that purpose, and a copy of
the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory
of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned
on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

The notice must state the name, address, and description
of the person, or, if a firm, the name, address, and
description of the firm, and an address for service within
three miles of the office of the Supreme Court at Dunedin,
and must be signed by the person or firm, or his or their
solicitor (if any), and must be served, or, if posted, must
be sent by post in sufficient time to reach the above-named
petitioner’s address for service not later than 4 o’clock
in the afternoon of 6 May 1954.

Notice to Creditors to Prove

In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and J. CROWE
AND SONS LIMITED (in liquidation), (creditors'
winding-up).

THE liquidator of J. CROWE AND SONS LIMITED, which is
being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix the 14th
day of May 1954 as the day on or before which the creditors
of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to
establish any title they may have to priority under section
258 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any
distribution made before such debts are proved or, as the
case may be, from objecting to such distribution.

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF
RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I
hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the County of Waitemata, taken on the 2nd day of April
1954 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said
county be on the unimproved value:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was, 5,349.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was,
2,420.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Security for Transport (Omnibus) Loan 1954, of £100,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the
Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £100,000 authorized to be raised
by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned
Act for the purpose of purchasing twelve new motor omnibuses
and spare engines for the existing omnibus fleet, the said
Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 0.2d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value
(on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of
the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid
off.'

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct
copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council
on the above-mentioned date.

MOUNT MAUNGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water Reticulation Loan 1952, £45,000—First Issue of £13,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Mount
Maunganui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘That for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on the loan of £13,000 authorized to be raised
by the Mount Maunganui Borough Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of installing water reticulation
in the Borough of Mount Maunganui, the said Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of thirteen sixty-fourths pence
(13/64d.) in the pound upon the rateable (unimproved) value
of all rateable property in the Borough of Mount Maunganui;
and such special rate shall be an annually recurring special
rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-
yearly on the first day of October and the first day of April
in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being
a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
passed at a meeting of the Mount Maunganui Borough Council
held on the 13th day of April 1954.

HOROWHENUA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Horowhenua Electric Power Board Electric Reticulation
Loan No. 8 1954, £50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Horowhenua Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

‘That, for the purpose of providing for the payment
of principal, interest, and other charges on the Horowhenua
Electric Power Board Electric Reticulation Loan No. 8, 1954
of £50,000, authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua
Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for
the purpose of further extending reticulation in the Board’s
district, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special
rate of one-twelfth of a penny in the pound on the rateable
value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable
property in the Horowhenua Electric Power Board District,
as defined in the Proclamation appearing in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 100 of the 1st day of December 1921, and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st
day of July in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.'

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of
the Horowhenua Electric Power Board held at Levin on the
21st day of April 1954.
