NOTICE is hereby given that on 19 March 1954 the undermentioned specification was declared to be a standard specification by the Minister of Industries and Commerce pursuant to section 8 of the Standards Act 1941:

Details: The 3¼ fathom sounding shown on western side of Shelly Bay Outer Wharf, 202½° (T) 0·67 miles from the above position is to be amended to show 2¼ fathoms on chart 803. The above information is to be inserted on charts N.Z. 50 and 1423.

Notice to Mariners No. 30 of 1954
NEW ZEALAND-SOUTH ISLAND-OTAGO HARBOUR Dredging in Otago Harbour
MARINERS are hereby notified that dredging operations in the main entrance channel off Howlett Point and on the inside of Harrington Bend will commence on or about 15 April 1954 and continue for a period of approximately three months.
In smooth weather the dredge will be working in a position approximately 2,000 ft.-280° from Taiaroa Head Lighthouse, and when unable to work in this position will work in the vicinity of Nos. 3 and 4 Red Beacons, Harrington Bend. Mariners should proceed with caution and at a moderate speed on passing the dredge on that side on which the regulation signal will be exhibited.
