Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Cromwell, the County of Vincent, and the Clutha Riding of the County of Vincent
PURSUANT to section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Cromwell, the County of Vincent, and the Clutha Riding of the County of Vincent, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council dated the 21st day of October 1953 and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 58 of the 22nd day of October 1953.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF CROMWELL
ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Lot 30, Deposited Plan 2970; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Block 92, Town of Cromwell, to the right bank of the Clutha River; thence generally south-westerly along the right bank of the Clutha River to its confluence with the Kawarau River; thence generally south-westerly along the left bank of the Kawarau River to the southernmost corner of Block 92, Town of Cromwell; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Block 92 aforesaid, and again north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Section 10, Block I, Cromwell Survey District, and Block 92, Town of Cromwell, to the northernmost corner of Lot 30, Deposited Plan 2970, the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF VINCENT
All that area situated in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at Mount Alba in the Southern Alps; thence generally north-easterly along the summit of the Southern Alps to Mount Strauchon; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of the Waitaki County, as described in New Zealand Gazette 1947 at page 1884, to Trigonometrical Station A A, Mount St. Bathans; thence south-westerly along a straight line to a geodetic trigonometrical station south of Dunstan Pass; thence southerly and south-westerly along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Run 237F to the northernmost corner of Run 226B; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 226B to a point in line with the source of Lauder Creek; thence generally south-westerly to and along the centre of Lauder Creek to its confluence with the Manuherikia River; thence generally easterly along the centres of the Manuherikia River and the Poolburn to the northernmost corner of Block III, Poolburn Survey District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Block III aforesaid and Run 261H to its easternmost corner; thence generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Runs 261H, 261I, 261J, 261L, Section 1, Block VIII, Poolburn Survey District, Runs 261N, 261O, 261P, and the north-eastern boundary of Run 261Q to a point on a line between Trigonometrical Stations J, North Rough Ridge Hill, and C, South Rough Ridge Hill; thence south-westerly along a straight line to Trigonometrical Station C, South Rough Ridge Hill; thence generally south-westerly along the watershed through Trigonometrical Stations H, Manorside Survey District, and V, Long Valley Survey District, to Trigonometrical Station C, Long Valley Survey District; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Run 642 to Trigonometrical Station B, Long Valley Survey District; thence generally north-westerly along a public road to the western boundary of Run 642; thence generally north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Run 642 and the watershed through Trigonometrical Stations X and U, Pinelheugh, Teviot Survey District, along the south-western boundaries of Run 569, to and along the southern and south-western boundaries of Run 1991, the western boundaries of Runs 569 and 262J, to a point due east of Trigonometrical Station I, Rocky Mount, Obelisk Survey District; thence westerly along a straight line to Trigonometrical Station I, Rocky Mount; thence north-westerly along a straight line to Lorn Peak; thence generally north-easterly along the eastern boundaries of the Lake County, as described in New Zealand Gazette 1953 at page 2044, to Mount Alba, the point of commencement, excepting therefrom the Borough of Cromwell hereinbefore described and the Borough of Alexandra, as described in New Zealand Gazette 1882 at page 128.
BOUNDARIES OF THE CLUTHA RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF VINCENT
All that area in the Otago Land District and the Vincent County bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Kawarau River and Kirtleburn; thence generally north-easterly along the western boundary of the Vincent County hereinbefore described to the centre of the Clutha River; thence generally south-easterly along the centre of the Clutha River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Block 92, Town of Cromwell; thence north-westerly, south-westerly, and south-easterly along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of the Borough of Cromwell, hereinbefore described, to the Kawarau River; thence south-easterly to and generally north-westerly up the centre of the Kawarau River to its confluence with the Kirtleburn, the point of commencement.

Varying a Notice Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby varies the notice dated the 24th day of March 1950, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 30th March 1950 at page 347, declaring parts of the Waipa Tribal District to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act by omitting the words 'Maungatautari Tribal Committee Area' wherever they appear in the Schedule to the said notice, and substituting therefor the words 'Cambridge Tribal Committee Area'.
