REVOKING THE RESERVATION OVER THE MAKAREWA DOMAIN, SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS a notice of intention to issue an Order in Council declaring that the Makarewa Domain, described in the Schedule hereto, shall cease to be subject to Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, and shall be deemed to be Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act 1948, was published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 16th day of October 1952:
And whereas such notice of intention was duly laid before the House of Representatives in accordance with the provisions of subsection (2) of section 7 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928 :
And whereas the House of Representatives, by a resolution dated the 24th day of October 1952, approved the proposed revocation as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (1) of section 41 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the Makarewa Domain described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act, and shall be Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act 1948.

EXTENDING THE TIME FOR FORWARDING THE REPORT OF THE COMMISSION APPOINTED UNDER THE AUCKLAND HARBOUR BRIDGE ACT 1950 TO INQUIRE INTO AND REPORT ON THE CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION OF THE DEVONPORT STEAM FERRY COMPANY, LIMITED

To all to whom these presents shall come and to STANLEY LOGAN PATERSON, Esquire, of Hamilton, Stipendiary Magistrate, and DAVID HARVEY STEEN, Esquire, of Auckland, Public Accountant: GREETING:
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 29th day of August 1951, you, the said Stanley Logan Paterson and David Harvey Steen, were constituted and appointed to be a Commission in terms of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Act 1950 to inquire into and report upon certain matters relating to the amount of compensation payable to the Devonport Steam Ferry Company, Limited, in respect of a claim submitted by the Devonport Steam Ferry Company, Limited, to the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority under Part VII of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Act 1950:
And whereas such Commission was required to submit its report not later than the 31st day of March 1952:
And whereas the time within which such Commission was required to report was by a Warrant dated the 31st day of March 1952 extended to the 30th day of June 1952, and by a Warrant dated the 25th day of June 1952 was further extended to the 30th day of September 1952, and by a Warrant dated the 1st day of October 1952 was further extended to the 31st day of March 1953:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time within which such Commission shall submit its report for a further period of three months—that is, until the 30th day of June 1953:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said Act and by the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declare and appoint that the time at or before which you shall submit your report aforesaid is hereby further extended to the 30th day of June 1953.
And I hereby declare that the provisions of the said Warrant shall apply as fully and effectively in all respects as if the 30th day of June 1953 were the date for expiration originally fixed in the said Warrant.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 11th day of February 1953.

OFFICER AUTHORIZED TO TAKE AND RECEIVE STATUTORY DECLARATIONS

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Lieutenant-Commander Edward Courteney Thorne, R.N.Z.N., being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Commanding Officer, H.M.N.Z.S. Irirangi, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of February 1953.
