Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council, hereby—
(1) Alters and redefines the boundaries of the said district so
constituted as aforesaid;
(2) Declares that the boundaries of the said district shall be
those set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, further,
(3) Declares that this Order in Council shall come into force on
the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MANUHERIKIA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District and the Counties of Vincent
and Maniototo, containing 138,100 acres, more or less, situated in
the Survey Districts of Leaning Rock, Tiger Hill, Cairnhill, Cairnside,
Manor, Teviot, and Long Valley, bounded by a line commencing at
the north-eastern corner of Run 244G in Tiger Hill Survey District;
then south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Runs
244G, 244H, and 244J; thence north-westerly along the south-
western boundary of Run 244J to the south-eastern boundary of
Run 220B; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundaries
of Runs 220B, 220H, and 220G; thence south-easterly along the south-
ern boundaries of Runs 220F and 220E to the north-west corner of
Section 4, Block XIII, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence generally
southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries
of Section 4 aforesaid to the western boundary of Run 587; thence
generally southerly along that boundary and south-easterly along
the north-eastern boundary of Run 565; thence south-westerly
along the south-eastern boundaries of Runs 565 and 566; thence
westerly along the southern boundaries of Runs 566, 567, and 569;
then generally north-westerly along the south-western boundary
of Run 569; thence north-easterly along the western boundary of
Run 569 to Trig. J; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of
Runs 569 and 569A; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of
Run 570; thence north-westerly along the northern boundary of
Run 570 to the Clutha River; thence north-easterly along the eastern
bank of the Clutha River to its confluence with the Manuherikia
River; thence north-easterly up centre of main stream of the
Manuherikia River to a point in line with the northern boundary
of Run 244G; thence easterly along that boundary to the point of
commencement.

Authorizing Downer and Company, Limited, and Morrison-Knudsen
Company (New Zealand), Limited, to Erect and Use Electric
Lines in Portion of the County of Waitaki

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 11th day of

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1923, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes Downer and Company,
Limited, and Morrison-Knudsen Company (New Zealand), Limited,
duly incorporated companies, having their registered offices at
Wellington (hereinafter referred to as the licensees), subject to the
conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place,
and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the
Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring
Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of
this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the
provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- In respect of the lines hereby authorized, the licensees
shall comply with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the
Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference
Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in
amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs
(a) and (f) of Regulation 2I-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations - The normal rated pressure of the transmission line referred
to in paragraph (c) of the Schedule hereto shall be 11,000 volts.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue
in force until the 31st day of March 1955.
SCHEDULE
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of supply
hereinbefore described :
(a) Within a radius of 350 yards from the compressor shed
situated in Section 20, Block V, Kurow Survey District,
the electric lines at present proposed to be erected and
used being shown by means of lines coloured variously
green, black, blue, brown, and red on the plan marked
S.H.D. 225, deposited in the office of the State Hydro-
electric Department at Wellington:
(b) Within a radius of 400 yards from the substation situated
in Section 12, Block V, Kurow Survey District, the
electric lines at present proposed to be erected and
used being shown by means of blue lines and red lines
on the plan marked S.H.D. 226, deposited in the office
of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington:
(c) Leading from the substation at the point marked l on the
plan marked S.H.D. 225 as aforesaid to the substation
referred to in paragraph (b) of this Schedule.

Varying the Determinations in Respect of Portion (£10,000)
of the Waimea Electric-power Board's Loan of £50,000

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the 3rd day of
March 1952 (hereinafter called the said Order in
Council), and subject to the determinations as to borrowing
and repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising
in New Zealand by the Waimea Electric-power Board (here-
inafter called the said local authority) of a loan of fifty
thousand pounds (£50,000) to be known as "Border Area
Loan 1951" (hereinafter called the said loan):
And whereas an amount of thirty-five thousand (£35,000)
has not yet been raised and it is expedient to vary certain of
the determinations aforesaid in respect of portion thereof
amounting to ten thousand pounds (£10,000) (hereinafter
called the said sum):
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 11 of the Local
Government Loans Board Act 1926, as set out in section 29
of the Finance Act 1932 (No. 2), His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby varies certain of the deter-
minations aforesaid in respect of the said sum by prescribing
that in lieu of a rate of interest not exceeding three pounds
five shillings (£3 5s.) per centum per annum, as specified in
clause 2 of the said Order in Council, the rate of interest that
may be paid in respect of the said sum or any part thereof
shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a
rate or rates exceeding four pounds (£4) per centum per
annum.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £600 by the Buller
County Council and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Buller County Council (hereinafter called
the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the pro-
visions of section 49 of the Fire Services Act 1949, to borrow
the sum of six hundred pounds (£600) by a loan to be known
as 'Denniston Fire Station Loan 1953' (hereinafter called
the said loan) for the purpose of meeting part of the cost of
erecting a new fire station at Denniston:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 11 of the Local
Government Loans Board Act 1926, as set out in section 29 of
the Finance Act 1932 (No. 2), His Excellency the Governor-
General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, hereby consents to the raising by the said
local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the
amount of six hundred pounds (£600), and in giving such
consent hereby determines as follows:
-
The term for which the said loan or any part thereof
may be raised shall be ten (10) years. -
The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the
said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce
to the lender a rate exceeding four pounds (£4) per centum
per annum. -
The said loan or any part thereof, together with
interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual
instalments extending over the term as determined in 1 above. -
No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after
the expiry of two years from the date hereof.
