NORRIE, Governor-General A PROCLAMATION IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2 of the Maori Housing Amendment Act 1938, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart for the purposes of the Maori Housing Act 1935.

Constituting the Longridge Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 5560) C. W. M. NORRIE, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 15th day of December 1953 Present: THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 applies, a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Longridge Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE BOUNDARIES OF THE LONGRIDGE RABBIT DISTRICT ALL that area of land containing by estimation 41,300 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 815, Block I, Hokonui Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 815 aforesaid to the eastern-most corner of Lot 3 on plan numbered 2935 and deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill; thence south-westerly generally along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 3 to and across the Lumsden - Longridge North Road; thence south-easterly generally along the south side of the Lumsden - Longridge North Road to the Waimea Stream; thence south-easterly generally along the Waimea Stream to its intersection with the south side of the Waimea Plains Branch Railway Reserve; thence in a south-easterly direction along the southern side of the said Waimea Plains Branch Railway Reserve, to its intersection with the Gore-Lumsden State Highway; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the east sides of the said Gore-Lumsden State Highway and the Balfour-Ardlussa Road, and along the south side of a public road forming the northern boundary of Lot 1; on plan numbered 191 and deposited as aforesaid, to the right bank of the Mataura River; thence in a northerly direction generally along the right bank of the Mataura River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 646; Block IV, Hokonui Survey District; thence south-westerly and north-westerly generally to and along the southern boundary of the said Section 646, and the eastern, southern, south-western, and western boundaries of part Section 474 on plan numbered 924 and deposited as aforesaid to the southern boundary of Run 394A, Eyre Survey District; thence in an easterly direction generally along the southern boundary of the said Run 394A to its junction with a branch of Black Creek; thence in a south-westerly direction generally to and along the main course of Black Creek to the Tomogalak Stream; thence in a north-easterly direction along the Tomogalak Stream to the south-eastern corner of Run 191B, Eyre Survey District; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the said Run 191B to the point of commencement.
