TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Borough of Taumarunui hereby resolves as follows:

‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £73,000 authorized to be raised by the Borough of Taumarunui under the above-mentioned Act for a new water supply, the said Borough of Taumarunui hereby makes and levies a special rate of five and three-tenths pence (53/10d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Taumarunui; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Taumarunui Borough Council on Tuesday, 24 November 1953.

CENTRAL WAIKATO ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Special Loan 1953, £80,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Central Waikato Electric Power Board resolves as follows:

‘That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the principal, interest, and other charges on the Board’s Special Loan 1953, £80,000, authorized to be raised by the Central Waikato Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of financing further reticulation within the Central Waikato Electric Power District, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·077 of a penny in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Central Waikato Electric Power District as the same is defined by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 27th day of July 1939 at page 2042; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable annually on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Central Waikato Electric Power Board held on the 18th day of November 1953.

BOROUGH OF WAIRAOA

SPECIAL RATE

Water Reticulation Extension Loan 1951

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Wairoa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of sixteen thousand six hundred pounds (£16,600) authorized to be raised by the Wairoa Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the water reticulation in the Borough, the said Wairoa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nine six two pence (0·962d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Wairoa, comprising the whole of the Borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is paid off.’

WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND AND INTERESTS THEREIN

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Harbours Act 1950 and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington Harbour Board proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it so to do to take for a public work all the estate, title, and interest (including the leasehold interest) of Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., a company duly incorporated in New Zealand and having its registered office at the City of Wellington, and all estate, title, and interest of every other person (other than the Wellington Harbour Board), in the lands described in the Schedule hereto and the buildings thereon, such public work being the undermentioned public work and harbour work which the Board is authorized to carry on and execute for the management and utilization of the harbour of Wellington, namely, a store upon the said lands:

(a) For the warehousing therein in bond of dutiable goods under the provisions of the Customs Act 1913 whilst such goods are in the custody of the Board as wharfinger or warehouseman;

(b) For the storage and examination of damaged and pillaged goods in the Board’s custody as wharfinger or warehouseman; and

(c) For the storage of goods generally in the Board’s custody as wharfinger or warehouseman.

The land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for the purpose of such public work; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken, together with the name of the owner and of the occupiers thereof as far as such occupiers can be ascertained, is deposited in the public office of the Secretary to the said Board in the said Board’s head office at Queen’s Wharf, Jervois Quay, in the City of Wellington, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the said public work or the taking of such land or the buildings thereon should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the said public work or to the taking of the said land or any interest therein or the buildings thereon, set forth such objections in writing and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington Harbour Board addressed to the Secretary thereof at his said office at Queen’s Wharf, Jervois Quay, in the City of Wellington.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land containing three roods twenty-nine perches and three-tenths of a perch (3 r. 29·3 p.), more or less, situate in the City of Wellington, being part of the Waterloo Quay Reclamation and being the Lot Number Four (+) on the plan deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Wellington as Plan Number 4943, and being also part of the lands comprised in a certificate of title entered in the register book in the said Lands Registry Office, Volume 328, folio 255, which land is now the subject of a lease from the Wellington Harbour Board as lessor to the aforesaid Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., as lessee, which memorandum of lease is dated the 23rd day of July 1952 and is registered in the said Lands Registry Office as Number 25855.

The said land is shown outlined in red upon the plan referred to in the foregoing notice as deposited in the Public Office of the Secretary to the said Board.
