Time and Place of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill an Extraordinary Vacancy on the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board

Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 o'clock noon on Wednesday, the 2nd day of December 1953, as the time, and the offices of the Otago and Southland Fire and Accident Underwriters' Association, Dunedin, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect one member of the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block XIII, Tutamoe Survey District, for a Public School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a public school; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Kaihu and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 14) 1953

Pursuant to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 14) 1953.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 20th day of November 1953.
  2. Goods of the classes specified in the First Schedule hereto imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country other than the countries specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.
FIRST SCHEDULE

Ex 338 (2) Non-wireable high rupturing capacity fuses.
Ex 340 (2) Fluorescent lamps, complete, specially suited for street lighting.

Notice is hereby given that on 28 October 1953 the undermentioned standard specification was amended by the Minister of Industries and Commerce by incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:
Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 521 (First revision), Ready mixed paint for undercoats and finishing coats (white and light tints) for use on exterior woodwork.
Amendment: No. 1, October 1953.
