Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Kohuratahi Public Hall Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day of November 1953
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a site for a public hall :
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided : Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely,
Herbert William Claude Hight,
Kenneth David Saunders Hight,
Clarence Cecil Kjestrup,
Donald James Law, and George Edward Stockwell,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Kohuratahi Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as the Board), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Friday, the 20th day of November 1953, at 8 o'clock p.m., at the Kohuratahi Public Hall, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at such time and place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.
  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting ; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.
  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.
  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.
  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the 31st day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.
  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Kohuratahi and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board, provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

    Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Titirangi Survey District, North Auckland Land District
    Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (1) (a) of section 7 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for a site for a public pound to a reserve for municipal buildings and ornamental gardens.

    PART Allotment 45A, Titirangi Parish, situated in Block IV, Titirangi Survey District : Area, 1 rood 0.4 perch, more or less. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1107/1/14B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

    Revoking the Reservation Over a Reserve in Waoku Survey District, North Auckland Land District

    ORDER IN COUNCIL
    At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day of November 1953
    Present:
    THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
    PURSUANT to subsection (1) (b) of section 7 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the reservation for a public cemetery over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and hereby declares that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act 1948.

    Declaring Bradley's Farm Settlement Road in the Hobson County to be County Road

    At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day of November 1953
    Present:
    THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
    PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county road.
    SCHEDULE
    ALL that portion of road in the North Auckland Land District, Hobson County, situated in Blocks XIII and XIV, Tokatoka Survey District, commencing at the north-western corner of Allotment 173, Tatarariki Parish, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally for a distance of approximately 89 chains, and terminating at the southernmost corner of Allotment 174, Tatarariki Parish. (S.O. 36647.) As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 141654, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
    Also all that portion of road in the said land district and county, situated in Block XIV, Tokatoka Survey District, and Block I, Te Kuri Survey District, commencing at the westernmost corner of Allotment 176, Tatarariki Parish, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally for a distance of approximately 40 chains, and terminating at the southernmost corner of the aforesaid Allotment 176. (S.O. 36645.) As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 141653, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
