NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act 1933, that by an entry in its minute book the above-named company on the 4th day of November 1953 passed the following resolution as a special resolution: 'That the company be wound up voluntarily.'

Notice of Meeting of Creditors
NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of Te Aroha Jewellers, Limited (under receivership), will be held on Thursday, the 19th day of November 1953, at which a resolution for voluntary winding-up is to be proposed, and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held, pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act 1933, at the Courthouse, Te Aroha, on Friday, the 20th day of November 1953, at 10.30 o'clock in the forenoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company's affairs together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

Declaration of Poll on Proposal to Adopt System of Rating on Unimproved Value
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Tirau County Township taken on the 31st day of October 1953 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said township be on the unimproved value:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 66. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19. Informal votes, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

COUNTY OF STRATFORD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Staff Housing Loan No. 2, 1953
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act 1951, the Counties Act 1920, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Stratford County Council hereby resolves:
'That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, repayment of principal, and other charges on the Stratford County Staff Housing Loan No. 2, 1953, of £10,000, to be raised by the Stratford County Council, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/12d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Stratford; and the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'
The above resolution was confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Stratford County Council held at its offices on Friday, the 16th day of October 1953, at 10.30 a.m.

Rural Housing Loan 1953
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act 1951, the Counties Act 1920, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Stratford County Council resolves:
'That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, repayment of principal, and other charges on the Stratford County Rural Housing Loan 1953, of £5,000, to be raised by the Stratford County Council, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/24d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Stratford; and the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'
The above resolution was confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Stratford County Council held at its offices on Friday, the 16th day of October 1953, at 10.30 a.m.

CARTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
General Purposes Amalgamated Loan 1952, £12,000, Third Issue of £4,000
The Carterton Borough Council, at a meeting held on the 5th day of November 1953, passed the following resolution:
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Carterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
'That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds, being part of the General Purposes Amalgamation Loan 1952, of twelve thousand pounds (£12,000), authorized to be raised by the Carterton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making additions to the water reticulation, providing a new municipal building, and carrying out additions and alterations to the State Theatre, the said Carterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal six hundred and seventy-eight pence (0.678d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Borough of Carterton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years from the 1st day of February 1954, or until such loan is fully paid off.'
The above resolution was passed by the Carterton Borough Council held on the 5th day of November 1953.
