Appointment of Honorary Officers
Pursuant to section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act 1946, the Minister of Marine hereby appoints the persons named in the Schedule to this warrant to be Honorary Officers for the acclimatization districts shown in such Schedule for the purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act 1908, such persons to hold office until the 31st day of March 1956.

Appointment of Honorary Fishery Officer
Pursuant to section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act 1946, the Minister of Marine hereby appoints Leo Francis Daly, of Half-Moon Bay, to be an Honorary Fishery Officer for the purposes of Part I of the Fisheries Act 1908, such person to hold office until the 31st day of March 1956.

Member of the Plumbers Board Appointed
Pursuant to the Plumbers Registration Act 1912, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint Patrick Ryan to be a member of the Plumbers Board of New Zealand for a term expiring on the 30th day of June 1955, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of Cyril Leonard Jeffries.

Additional Member of Domain Board Appointed
Pursuant to section 46 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to increase the total number of members of the Halswell Domain Board from eight to nine, and to appoint Harold Edwin Hoyle as the additional member thereby rendered necessary.

Withdrawal of Dangerous Drugs Prohibition in Respect of Registered Medical Practitioner
Pursuant to the Dangerous Drugs Act 1927, the Minister of Health, acting on the recommendation of the Medical Council, hereby withdraws the prohibition dated the 10th day of September 1952 and published in the Gazette on the 18th day of September 1952 at page 1534, whereby Robert Finlay Allan, Registered Medical Practitioner, of Dunedin, was prohibited from issuing prescriptions for the dispensing of dangerous drugs.

Notice of Intention to Take Land for Scenic Purposes in Block III, Tryphena Survey District
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, and the Scenery Preservation Act 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for scenic purposes; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Tryphena and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
60 acres 2 roods 29 perches.
Being Allotment S.E. 100, Aotea Parish.
Situated in Block III, Tryphena Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 36959.)

Notice of Intention to Take Land for Road in Block VII, Waitahu Survey District
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Reefton and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Agreement for Grant of Water Easement in Favour of Edward Cartwright, of Ashburton, Contractor, Over Land in the Borough of Ashburton, Taken for a Public School, Assented to
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 28th day of July 1953, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 30th day of the same month at page 1209, an area of land containing 1 acre 2 roods 24.5 perches, being part Lot 1, D.P. 10184, being part Rural Sections 7088 and 10092, situated in the Borough of Ashburton, was taken for a public school:
And whereas Edward Cartwright, of Ashburton, Contractor, is entitled to receive compensation in respect of his freehold interest in the said land;
And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to the said Edward Cartwright an easement to convey water over the aforesaid area in addition to the payment of a sum of money in full satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid:
And whereas the said Edward Cartwright has agreed to accept such grant of easement and sum of money in full satisfaction of the said compensation:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice, pursuant to section 97 of the Public Works Act 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.
