ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of October 1953
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General In Council
Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 applies, a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Taupo Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE TAUPO RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District of approximately 570 square miles; bounded by a line commencing in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District, where the right bank of the Waipapa River meets the left bank of the Waikato River and running easterly, southerly, and westerly generally up the left bank of the Waikato River aforesaid to a point in line with the northern boundary of the Taupo Town District; thence along a right line across the aforesaid river to and along the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of the aforesaid Town District as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16 of the 21st day of March 1946, page 347, to the shores of Lake Taupo ; thence again westerly generally along the northern shores generally of the aforesaid lake to the south-western corner of Tihoi No. 1 Block; thence northerly generally along the western boundaries of Tihoi No. 1 aforesaid and part No. 3B Blocks, along the southern and western boundaries of Tihoi No. 3B 8A Block, to and along another part of the western boundary of part Tihoi No. 3B Block aforesaid to Trig. Station No. 1390, Pureora, situated in Block III, Hurakia Survey District ; thence along a right line to the source of the Ongarue River, and along another right line in the direction of Trig. Station No. 1641, Rangitoto, situated in Block IV, Pakaumanu Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of Maraeroa A No. 3B 2 Block ; thence along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of the aforesaid No. 3B 2 Block, to its northernmost corner; thence along the western boundary of part of Pouakani Block to and down the right banks of the Waiteti Stream and the Waipapa River to the point of commencement.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Waihaorunga Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 5520)

Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby—

Alters and redefines the boundaries of the Waihaorunga Rabbit District by adding thereto the area of land the boundaries of which are described in the First Schedule hereto.

Declares that the boundaries of the said district as so altered and redefined shall be those set forth in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE AREA TO BE ADDED TO THE WAIHAORUNGA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Waimate County, in the Canterbury Land District, containing 15,780 acres, more or less, commencing at a point being the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 30402, situated in Block X, Waihao Survey District, and situated on the junction of the boundaries of the Waihaorunga and Upper Waihao Rabbit Districts; thence proceeding south-easterly generally along the south-western boundary of the said Waihaorunga Rabbit District (N.Z. Gazette No. 33, 2 June 1949, page 1291) to the south-western corner of Section 18, Douglas Settlement, at Serpentine Valley Road; thence westerly generally along that road and Buchanans Road to and south-westerly along Zig Zag Road and westerly along the road forming the northern boundary of the Redcliff Rabbit District (N.Z. Gazette No. 6, 10 February 1944, pages 105–6) and Section 1, Block I, Elephant Hill Survey District (Takitu Settlement) to and northerly generally along the eastern boundary of the Upper Waihao Rabbit District (N.Z. Gazette No. 62, 2 December 1948, page 1479) to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 30402, the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIHAORUNGA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Waimate County, in the Canterbury Land District, containing 69,780 acres, more or less, commencing at a point at the junction of the Elephant Hill and Serpentine Valley Roads near Waihao Downs Railway Station; thence easterly along the main highway (Waihao Downs–Waimate Road) to the right bank of the Waihao River at Waihao Forks; thence along the said right bank of that river to the eastern boundary of R.S. 20184 (the boundary to this point follows along the Redcliff Rabbit Board District); thence continuing south-easterly along the right bank of the Waihao River to the road on the south boundary of R.S. 17868; thence continuing easterly along that road passing to the south of R.S. 21854; thence in a northerly direction along the road on the east side of R.S. 21854 and passing through R.S. 20460 to and along the road forming the western boundary of Kapua Settlement to the Waihao Downs Railway; thence westerly along that railway to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 1094, the southern and eastern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 1094, the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 1481, to the north-western boundary of R.S. 28211; thence south-westerly along that boundary to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of R.S. 20373 to a public road; thence following that road in a westerly direction through R.S. 20373 aforesaid and R.S. 27904 and its production to the terrace forming the western boundaries of R.S. 27904 and R.S. 23942; thence in a north-westerly direction along that terrace to the left bank of the north branch of the Waihao River; thence in a northerly direction along the left bank of that river to the northern boundary of R.S. 31752 (Blocks II and III, Waihao Survey District); thence following the boundary of the Upper Waihao Rabbit District along the said northern boundary of R.S. 31752 and the western boundary of that section to and along the northern boundary of R.S. 36391 and Pastoral Run 234A (R.S. 36392) and the western boundary of that run and R.S. 32758 to Sisters Creek (north branch); thence easterly along that creek and south-easterly along a tributary of that creek and along a netted fence to a point on Meyers Pass Road near R.S. 33900, Block IX, Waihao Survey District; thence along the south side of that road to the south-eastern boundary of R.S. 36394; thence along that boundary and the south-western boundary of that Section to and generally southerly along the eastern boundary of R.S. 36395, to the north-eastern boundary of R.S. 32808; thence south-easterly along that boundary to a public road, and along the south-western side of that road intersecting R.S. 26334 and R.S. 31577 to Waitaki Valley Road; thence generally south-easterly along that road and the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of R.S. 26331, R.S. 26330, and R.S. 26329, in Block I, Elephant Hill Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of said Section 26329 (at this point the boundary of the Upper Waihao Rabbit District departs from this boundary); thence following along the said road which forms the north-eastern boundary of R.S. 26329, S.G. Run 81, and R.S. 28739 to and along the Zig Zag Road to the westernmost corner of R.S. 18848 (the boundary of the
