High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand Appointed

Member of Medical Research Council Appointed

PURSUANT to the Medical Research Council Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Health, has been pleased to appoint

Norman Lowther Edson, Ph.D. (Cantab.); B.Med.Sc., M.B., Ch.B. (N.Z.); F.R.S.N.Z.; F.N.Z.I.C., being a person nominated by the Senate of the University of New Zealand on the recommendation of the Academic Board of that University as being distinguished in medical research, to be a member of the Medical Research Council under the Medical Research Council Act 1950.

Appointment of a Member of Police Appeal Board

PURSUANT to the Police Appeal Board Election Regulations 1942, it is hereby notified that Senior Sergeant Martin Lawrence John Thyne has been appointed a member of the Board of Appeal constituted by section 24 of the Police Force Act 1947 for a period ending on 7 May 1954, he having been duly elected in accordance with the provisions of section 25 of the said Act.
