Notice of Meeting

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act 1933, that a general meeting of the members of the above company will be held in the offices of Messrs Mitson, Bell, and Company, 24 Water Street, Dunedin, on Thursday, 22 October 1953, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding-up of the company has been conducted and the assets disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be required from the liquidator.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION BY WAY OF SPECIAL ORDER

Special Order

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 43 of the Finance Act 1937, the Manukau County Council resolves by way of special order:

“That an annually recurring rate (herein called “the Consolidated rate”) of one-eighth of a penny (½d.) in the pound (£) be and is hereby made and levied on all rateable property in the County of Manukau to meet annual charges payable in respect to the Manukau County Council Conversion Loan No. 1 and the Manukau County Council Wairoa Riding Roads and Bridges Renewal Loan in lieu of the following special rates—

“(1) Manukau County Council Conversion Loan No. 1 (debentures issued pursuant to Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act 1932–33 and the Manukau County Loans Conversion Order 1935 (No. 1)).

“(a) On all rateable property in the Mangere Riding, a special rate of thirty-four sixty-fourths of a penny (34/64d.) in the pound.

“(b) On all rateable property in the Pakuranga Riding, a special rate of thirty-three sixty-fourths of a penny (33/64d.) in the pound.

“(c) On all rateable property in the Papakura Riding, a special rate of twenty-three sixty-fourths of a penny (23/64d.) in the pound.

“(d) On all rateable property in the Papatoetoe Riding, a special rate of thirty sixty-fourths of a penny (30/64d.) in the pound.

“(e) On all rateable property in the Turanga Riding, a special rate of forty-four sixty-fourths of a penny (44/64d.) in the pound.

“(f) On all rateable property in the Wairoa Riding, a special rate of twenty-two sixty-fourths of a penny (22/64d.) in the pound.

“(2) Wairoa Riding Roads and Bridges Renewal Loan, on all rateable property in the Wairoa Riding, a special rate of three-eighths of a penny (⅜d.) in the pound (£).

“The consolidated rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the above-mentioned loans and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year.”

We hereby certify that the above resolution by way of special order was passed at a special meeting of the Council on the 17th day of August 1953 and was confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 21st day of September 1953.

GISBORNE HARBOUR BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Harbour Improvement Loan 1953, £90,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Gisborne Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows:

“Pursuant to the provisions of the Gisborne Harbour Board Empowering Act 1952, that for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of ninety thousand pounds (£90,000) authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Harbour Board under the above-mentioned Act for constructing and carrying out harbour works specified in the Second Schedule to the Gisborne Harbour Board Empowering Act 1952 (viz., lighter berth, wall, cut-off sea wall, and the provision of necessary equipment and plant) the said Gisborne Harbour Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine one hundred and twenty-eighths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Gisborne Harbour District as defined by the Gisborne Harbour Board Empowering Act 1952, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed by the Gisborne Harbour Board at an ordinary meeting held at the Board’s office, Reads Quay, Gisborne, on Monday, 14 September 1953.

MOUNT MAUNGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water Reticulation Loan 1952, £45,000 (£7,000)

THAT, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and by all other acts and powers hereunto enabling it, the Mount Maunganui Borough Council hereby resolves that for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the Water Reticulation Loan 1952, £45,000, and the issue of £7,000 authorized under the above-mentioned powers, the said Mount Maunganui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven sixty-fourths of a penny (11/64d.) in the pound (£) (on the basis of unimproved values) on all the rateable property in the Borough of Mount Maunganui, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be repayable half-yearly on the first day of April and the first day of October in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Mount Maunganui Borough Council held on the 28th day of September 1953.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.
