Result of Poll for Proposed Loan

PURSUANT to the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the following notice received by the Minister of Finance from the Chairman, Waipa County Council, is hereby published.

Sandwich Road Water Supply Loan Poll

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Sandwich Road Water Supply Special Rating Area taken on 22 August 1953 on the proposal of the Waipa County Council to borrow £7,000 for the purpose of providing a water supply to the said area:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 76.

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NEW ZEALAND—SOUTH ISLAND—BLUFF HARBOUR

Alteration to Buoy Symbol—Non-existence of Trees

  1. Stirling Point Light, 46° 36·8′ S., 168° 21·6′ E. (approx.).

(a) The lighted conical buoy bearing 148° distant 1·9 cables approximately from the above position, is to be altered to show that of a “Pillar” buoy.

(b) The two ‘trees’ symbols shown approximately 0·5 cables to the westward of Stirling Pt. light, together with the clump of trees shown on the inset sketch ‘Stirling Pt. Lt. & Sig. Stn’ are to be expunged.
