β¨ Local Government Orders
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares:
- That from the 30th day of September 1953 the Croixelles and French Pass Road Districts shall be abolished and the Croixelles and French Pass Road Boards shall be dissolved.
- That on the 1st day of October 1953 the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a road district.
- That the name of the said road district shall be the Croisilles-French Pass Road District.
- That the number of members of the Board of the said road district shall be seven.
- That Beryl Moleta, of Waitai, French Pass, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of members of the Board of the said road district.
- That the said Beryl Moleta shall be the Clerk and the person to prepare the roll of electors for the purpose of the said first election.
- That the first election of members of the Board of the said road district shall be held on Saturday, the 31st day of October 1953.
- That the first meeting of the Board of the said road district shall be held on Saturday, the 7th day of November 1953, at 11 a.m., at the hall at French Pass.
- That, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Road Boards Act 1908, the members of the Boards of the road districts hereby abolished shall, during the period between the constitution of the Croisilles-French Pass Road District and the date when the first members of the Board of that road district come into office, be the members of the Croisilles-French Pass Road Board.
- That the constitution of the said road district shall be deemed to have been effected under section 35 of the Local Legislation Act 1929 and the Road Boards Act 1908.
SCHEDULE
CROISILLES-FRENCH PASS ROAD DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, being that part of the Sounds County bounded on the north-west generally by the sea from Pukerau Point to Pelorus Sound, on the south-east generally by Pelorus Sound to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 2, Block VII, Whangamoa Survey District, and on the south generally by a line to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 6 and 8 of Block VII aforesaid to Boundary Trig. Station; thence generally along the range and passing through Mount McLaren, McLaren's Peak, Editor Peak, and Elliot Peak to North Castor Peak; thence along a right line to Pukerau Point, the place of commencement, including D'Urville Island, Stephens Island, and other adjacent islands.

Boundaries of Borough of Queenstown and County of Lake Altered

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 137 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General by the Queenstown Borough Council praying that certain areas of land be excluded from the County of Lake and included in the Borough of Queenstown:
And whereas, pursuant to section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the said petition was referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 26th day of June 1953 providing for the exclusion of the areas described in the Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Lake and the inclusion of those areas in the Borough of Queenstown:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that as on and from the 1st day of October 1953 the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Lake and included in the Borough of Queenstown, and with the like advice and consent hereby also declares that the alteration of boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1933.
SCHEDULE
AREAS EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF LAKE AND INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF QUEENSTOWN
ALL that area situated in the Queenstown Riding of Lake County containing 292 acres and 2 roods, more or less, bounded as follows: Commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 9, Block XX, Shotover Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundary of a plan lodged in the Land Registry Office at Dunedin as number 7727 to the northern boundary of Lot 14 on that plan; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said Lot 14; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Section 75, Block XX, Shotover Survey District, to its northernmost corner; thence south-easterly, westerly, southerly, and westerly along the north-eastern, southern, eastern, and southern boundaries respectively of the said Section 75, and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Section 32, Block XX aforesaid, to the northern boundary of the Milton-Queenstown State Highway; thence easterly along that boundary to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 27, Block XX aforesaid; thence southerly to and along that boundary and its production to the shore of Lake Wakatipu; thence westerly along that shore to the boundary of the Borough of Queenstown; thence north-easterly, north-westerly, and south-westerly along the south-eastern and north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the Borough of Queenstown to the point of commencement.
Also all that area situated in the Queenstown Riding of Lake County containing 435 acres and 2 roods, more or less, bounded as follows: Commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 19, Block XX, Shotover Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Section 19 aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of the Borough of Queenstown; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the Borough of Queenstown to the shore of Lake Wakatipu; thence south-westerly along the shore of Lake Wakatipu to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 19 aforesaid; thence generally north-westerly to and along the south-western boundaries of Section 19, Block XX, Shotover Survey District, including the crossing of a road, and Section 20, Block I, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Section 20, Block I, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District, and Section 19, Block XX, Shotover Survey District, including the crossing of a road, to the point of commencement.

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 6 of the Land Drainage Amendment Act 1913, a petition was presented to the Governor-General by the Hauraki United Drainage Board praying that a certain area of land be excluded from the Thames Valley Drainage District and included in the Hauraki United Drainage District:
And whereas, pursuant to section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the said petition was referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme, bearing date the 5th day of June 1953, providing for the exclusion of the area described in the Schedule to the said scheme from the Thames Valley Drainage District and the inclusion of that area in the Hauraki United Drainage District:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme and to make supplementary provisions for the purposes of the districts hereby altered:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares:
(1) That as on and from the 1st day of October 1953 the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Thames Valley Drainage District and included in the Hauraki United Drainage District.
(2) That the boundaries of the Hauraki United Drainage District and the Thames Valley Drainage District as so altered shall be as defined in the Second Schedule hereto.
(3) That the said alteration of boundaries hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Land Drainage Act 1908.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE THAMES VALLEY DRAINAGE DISTRICT AND INCLUDED IN THE HAURAKI UNITED DRAINAGE DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Hauraki Plains County of approximately 216 acres, bounded by a line commencing at a point being the eastern corner of Wairau No. 3D No. 2 Block, situated in Block VII, Waihou Survey District, and running westerly and north-westerly along the northern and north-eastern side of the public road forming the southern boundary of Wairau Block, passing through Makumaku Block and forming the western boundary of Section 71, Block VI, Waihou Survey District, to the boundary of the Thames Valley Drainage District; thence easterly and southerly generally, along the
