NOTICE OF MEETING OF CREDITORS
In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of PEACOCKE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the Peacocke Construction Company, Limited, will be held on the 31st day of August 1953, at which an extraordinary resolution for voluntary winding-up is to be proposed: and that a meeting of creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act 1933 in the County Council Chambers, Egmont Street, Patea, on Monday, the 31st day of August 1953, commencing at 1 p.m., before which meeting a statement of the position of the company's affairs will be laid, and at which the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act may appoint a committee of inspection.

Notice of Meeting of Creditors
In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of HOARE AND CURRIE MOTOR ENGINEERS, LIMITED (in receivership).
NOTICE is hereby given that on the 3rd day of August 1953 the following special resolution was passed by the company by entry in its minute book pursuant to section 300: "That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business and that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that JOHN ASPINALL McCULLOCH, Public Accountant, of Upper Hutt, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company, such appointment to be subject to confirmation at a meeting of the creditors of the company to be held for that purpose.''
Pursuant to section 300 (7) of the Companies Act 1933 a meeting of the creditors of the above-mentioned company will be held at the Red Cross Rooms, Logan Street, Lower Hutt, on the 12th day of August 1953, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company's affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may confirm the appointment of the liquidator or nominate some other person to be liquidator in his stead, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

THE following extraordinary resolution was passed by entry in the minute book and confirmed by a meeting of creditors held on 28 July 1953. "That the company be wound up voluntarily and that J. E. STEDMAN, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator.''

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Waterworks Supplementary Loan 1953 (£35,000)
THE Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 3rd day of August 1953 passed the following resolution:
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows: 'That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of thirty-five thousand pounds (£35,000) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing waterworks for the improvement of the water supply of the City of Christchurch, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four hundred and fifty-nine twelve thousand five hundredths of a penny (459/12500d.) in the pound (£0·000153) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable properties comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'
