LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Levin
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000),
authorized to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under
the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out the
sewerage reticulation of the north-western portion of the
Borough, as required by a requisition issued under section 22
of the Health Act 1920, the said Levin Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of three-hundred-and-sixty-four
four-hundredths of a penny (364/400d.) in the pound upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property of the Borough of Levin, comprising the
whole of the Borough of Levin; and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION LEVYING RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Hutt
Valley Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:
‘That, for the purpose of providing the instalments of
principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000
(known as Building Additional Loan 1953), authorized to be
raised by the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board under the
above-mentioned Act, to provide additional moneys to meet
the added expense in the erection of the Board's new adminis-
trative building, the said Hutt Valley Electric-power Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of six one-hundredths
of a penny (6/100d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on
the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
of the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board’s District; and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day
of March in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the
loan is fully paid off.’
The above resolution was passed by the Hutt Valley
Electric-power Board on 21 May 1953.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL
In the matter of the Counties Act 1920, and in the
matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wairarapa South County
Council proposes under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts and their respective amendments to execute
a certain public work, namely, widening of a public road, and
for the purposes of such public work the lands described in
the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken; the land
mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto being old road is
intended to be closed: And notice is hereby further given that
a plan of the lands so required to be taken or old road
proposed to be stopped is deposited in the public office of the
Clerk of the said Council, situate at Memorial Square,
Carterton, and a further copy at the offices of its Solicitors,
Major, Tucker, and Gooding, High Street, Carterton, and is
open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during
ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such lands or the stopping of
portions of old road who have well-grounded objections to
the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the
said lands or to the stopping of portions of old road must state
their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty
days from the first publication of this notice, to the County
Clerk at the Council Chambers, Memorial Square, Carterton.
