to be a member of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research until 31 December 1954.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the City of Auckland (Notice No. Ag. 5431)
PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Minister of Agriculture hereby publishes the following Special Order made by the Auckland City Council on the 30th day of April 1953.
SPECIAL ORDER
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves and declares by way of Special Order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being plants mentioned in the First Schedule to the said Act) are noxious weeds within the City of Auckland.
SCHEDULE
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Californian or Creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense). Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and R. laciniatus). Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. R. rubignosa). Water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes).

Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in Woodville County (Notice No. Ag. 5432)
PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Minister of Agriculture hereby publishes the following Special Order made by the Woodville County Council on the 9th day of November 1951.
SPECIAL ORDER
THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Woodville County Council hereby declares that: Hemlock, ragwort, blackberry, gorse, and variegated thistle are noxious weeds within the County of Woodville.

The Rabbit Skins Levy Fixation Order 1953 (Notice No. Ag. 5433)
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, and having regard to the recommendations of the Rabbit Destruction Council, the Minister of Agriculture hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- This order may be cited as the Rabbit Skins Levy Fixation Order 1953. 2. For the purposes of this order 'the said regulations' means the Rabbit Skins Levy Regulations 1948. 3. The rate of the levy to be charged for the purposes of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, in accordance with that Act and the said regulations, on rabbit skins of whatever class produced and sold in New Zealand shall be 200 per centum of the price paid or payable by the purchaser of the skins in respect of every sale made or effected during the period commencing on the 1st day of June 1953, and ending on the 31st day of May 1954, both days inclusive, by a broker by auction or by a rural vendor directly to a wholesale trader as respectively defined in the said regulations.
