NOTICE is hereby given that on the dates stated in the first column hereunder, the undermentioned specifications were declared to be standard specifications by the Minister of Industries and Commerce pursuant to section 8 of the Standards Act 1941.

Pharmacy Industry
Williams and Ward, Ltd., Auckland, has applied for permission to operate as a day and night pharmacy at the company's premises, 118 Main Highway, Ellerslie, Auckland.
K. J. and J. P. Douglas, 54 St. Georges Road, Avondale, Auckland, have applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at the corner of Richardson and Stoddard Roads, Mount Roskill, Auckland.
N. G. Brown, 62 Eruera Street, Rotorua, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at 1 Neal Street, Putaruru.
E. L. Wood, P.O. Box 20, Patea, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy in Vogel Street, between Kipling and Milton Streets, Palmerston North.
H. R. Cattell, Gilmour Terrace, Lyttelton, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy in High Street, next Post Office Hotel, Motueka.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
J. H. Gourlay, Bridport Street, Kaitangata, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed garage and service-station premises at Bridport Street, Kaitangata, and otherwise than through pumps from the depot of Associated Motorists Petrol Co., Ltd., Dunedin.
Cranford Motors, Ltd., 305-7 Cranford Street Extension, St. Albans, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at 305-7 Cranford Street Extension, St. Albans, Christchurch, and otherwise than through pumps from the depot of the Vacuum Oil Co. N.Z., Ltd., Christchurch.
R. W. Butcher and Co. (Huntly), Ltd., 111-2 Main Street, Huntly, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at 111-2 Main Street, Huntly.
A. R. Cave, Great South Road, Te Kauwhata, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed service-station premises on the Great South Road, Te Kauwhata.
N. L. Field, Koromiko, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Koromiko on the main Blenheim-Picton Highway, and otherwise than through pumps from an oil company depot at Picton.
C. H. Moore and E. G. Gilbert, Levin Street, Naseby, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on taxi and transport premises in Levin Street, Naseby.
Lockhead Motors, Ltd., corner Jackson and Cuba Streets, Petone, has applied for permission to move three pumps from premises on the corner of Jackson and Cuba Streets, Petone, to a vacant section next door in Jackson Street, Petone.
E. H. Tisbury, Milford Sound, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed service-station premises at Milford Sound.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 28 May 1953, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.

Price Order No. 1469 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 1466), (Australian Potatoes)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order:-
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1469, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order 1466* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
- This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of May 1953.
- The principal Order is hereby amended by adding the following new clause:-
'SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED
' 6. Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this Order and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal on application by any retailer, may authorize special maximum prices in respect of any potatoes to which this Order applies where special circumstances exist, or where for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or otherwise) are incurred by the retailer. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of potatoes, or may relate generally to all potatoes to which this Order applies sold by the retailer while the approval remains in force.'
