CHRISTCHURCH TRANSPORT BOARD
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Acts amending the same.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Christchurch Transport Board, a body corporated under the Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920 and a local authority under the Public Works Act 1928, proposes to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments for tramway purposes:

All that parcel of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing 1 acre 2 roods 31 perches, or thereabouts, being part of Town Reserve 11, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 89, folio 216 (Canterbury District).

All that parcel of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing 3 roods 63/10 perches or thereabouts being parts of Town Reserves 156 and 174, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 349, folio 278 (Canterbury District).

All that parcel of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing 19½ perches, or thereabouts, being part of Town Reserve 11, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 179, folio 33 (Canterbury District).

All that parcel of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing 10.7 perches or thereabouts, being Lot 4 on Deposit Plan 16269, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 555, folio 80 (Canterbury District).

All that parcel of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing 12½ perches or thereabouts, being Lot 11x of the Christchurch Town Reserves, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 134, folio 249 (Canterbury District).
And notice is hereby further given that all persons affected, shall, if they have any objections to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objections and send such writing, within forty day from the date of the first publication of this notice, being the 1st day of May 1953, addressed to the General Manager, Christchurch Transport Board, Cathedral Square, Christchurch.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the Matter of the Public Works Act 1928
NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act to execute a certain public work, namely,--the widening of the corner of Gilfillan Street and Blockhouse Bay Road in the City of Auckland—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Public Office of the Town Clerk to the said Council situated at the Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all person during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must submit their objections in writing and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland.
THE SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land containing 6.8 perches, more or less, being part of Lot 13 on Deposited Plan No. 14778 and being portion of Allotment 316 of the Parish of Waikomiti and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 465, folio 107 (Auckland Registry), as the same piece of land is more particularly shown outlined in red on the plan hereinbefore referred to deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council.

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Streets Improvement No. 1 Renewal Loan, 1952, £3,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans Act 1926, the Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming at maturity portion of the outstanding liability in respect of the Streets Improvement No. 1 Loan, 1937, £6,000, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-five thousandths of a penny (.065d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.’
The foregoing resolution was passed at the ordinary meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council held in the Council Chambers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Wednesday, 29 April 1953.
