Non-existence of Nelson's Freezing Works and Chimney and
Alteration in Arc of Leading Lights
Position: Gisborne Breakwater Light: Lat. 38° 40·7' S.,
long. 178° 01·3' E. (approx.).
Details: (a) Freezing works and chimney shown 327° (T)
2·25 miles from the above light is to be expunged.
(b) The arcs of visibility of the leading lights are not
obscured to the eastward of the leading line.
Charts Affected: 3343.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925-
Proposed Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise
of the powers conferred upon me by section 23 of the
Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925, the registration
of the South Canterbury Threshing Mill Owners'
Industrial Union of Employers, Registered No. 379, situated
at Timaru, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be
cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date of
this notice.

NOTICE is hereby given that on 22 April 1953, the under-
mentioned specification was amended by the Minister
of Industries and Commerce by the incorporation of the
amendment shown hereunder:-

and Sockets of the Flat Pin Type for Use on 10-Amp.
250 Volt Circuits.
Amendment: No. 1 April 1953.

The Standards Act 1941-Draft New Zealand Standard
Specifications-No. 4269, Classification of Bituminous
Fabric Roofing Materials: No. D. 4270, Code of Practice
for Laying of Bituminous Fabric Roofing
NOTICE is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand
Standard Specifications are now being circulated to
affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing
date fixed for such comment is 8 June 1953.
All persons who may be affected by these specifications
once they have been declared Standard Specifications by the
Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before
the closing date for comments, obtain, on application, free
copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton
Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington,
so as to have an opportunity to consider the drafts and to
comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate
committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3)
of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New
Zealand Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the
Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936) the
Governor of the Reserve Bank, acting with the authority
of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as from
11 May 1953 the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank
by each other bank for the time being carrying on business
in New Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall
be not less than the aggregate of 20 per centum of its demand
liabilities in New Zealand, other than bank notes and 10
per centum of its time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown
in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that
bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of
New Zealand Act 1933.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
L. Powick and Sons, Brougham Street, Westport, has
applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to
be installed on service-station and garage premises at
Brougham Street, Westport.
J. L. Sweeney, Franz Joseph Service Station and Garage,
Waiho, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from
one pump to be installed on garage and service-station
premises in Waiho.
E. M. Christian, Te Pahu Service Station, corner Te Pahu
and Marapapa Roads, Te Pahu, has applied for a licence to
resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-
station premises at corner Te Pahu and Marapapa Roads,
Te Pahu.
W. C. G. Mackie, corner of Great South Road and
Church Street, Auckland, has applied for a licence to resell
motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed
garage premises on the southern corner of Great South Road
and Church Street, Auckland.
Greer Bros., Wairakei Road, Christchurch, has applied
for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed on garage premises at Wairakei Road, Christchurch.
W. S. Aitken, 5 Pine Street, Geraldine, has applied for
a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed
on taxi and rental-car premises at 5 Pine Street, Geraldine,
sales to be restricted to rental cars and taxis of the applicants
business.
Farm Motors, Ltd., Jellicoe Street, Te Puke, has applied
for permission to shift three pumps from their present
position outside garage premises in Jellicoe Street, Te Puke,
to a new site on the opposite side of the street a distance of
200 yards.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to
be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of
Industry on these applications should, not later than 21 May
1953, submit any written evidence and representations they
may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed
