Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister
of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions
of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they
relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the
persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following
provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940, to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule
hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the
course of his employment for the employer described in Column 2
of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under
the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any
other purpose.

Classification of Roads in Rotorua County

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (8) of the Heavy Motor-vehicle
Regulations 1950, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes
that portion of the Warrant dated the 24th day of July 1950,* in
so far as it relates to the roads described in the Schedule hereto,
and hereby approves the Rotorua County Council’s proposed
classification of the said roads as described in the said Schedule and
situated in the Rotorua County.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block I, Oamaru Survey District,
for Housing Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in
the Schedule hereto for housing purposes : And notice is hereby
further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is
deposited in the post-office at Oamaru and is there open for inspection ;
and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should,
if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land,
set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty
days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works
at Wellington.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under
Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936


Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

G. W. Carlyon, 35 Tankerville Road, Halswell, Christchurch,
has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from four pumps
to be installed on garage premises at the corner of Hoon Hay and
Sparks Roads, Halswell, Christchurch.

C. W. F. Hamilton and Co., Ltd., Fairlie, has applied for a
licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on
engineering premises at Irishman Creek, McKenzie Country.

A. T. Maw and A. C. Hellewell, 127 South Street, Ashburton,
have applied for licences to resell motor-spirit in drums from oil
company depots at Ashburton.

A. A. Johnson, Secretary, Nelson Branch, N.Z. Retail Motor
Trade Association, Inc., has applied on behalf of an intended
registered company for permission to take over a petrol reselling
licence for one pump from R. B. Win and Co., Ltd., 168 Rutherford
Street, Nelson, and to transfer the retail selling point to a new
site on the corner of Rutherford Street and Achilles Avenue, Nelson,
for the purpose of operating an emergency petrol service there.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than 27 November 1952, submit
any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.

spirit from one pump to be installed on tea-room premises at
Paekakariki.

Ira Murray, Okaihau, has applied for a licence to resell motor-
spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage
premises at Puketotara Road, Okaihau.

L. J. Stoodley, Campbell’s Bay, Auckland, has applied for a
licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on
garage and service-station premises at 350 Beach Road, Campbell’s
Bay, Auckland.

T. I. Wells, Upper Takaka, has applied for a licence to resell
motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station
premises at Upper Takaka.

R. G. Pengelly, Taniwha, Te Kauwhata, has applied for a
licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on
carrying premises at Taniwha, Te Kauwhata.

Wilkinson’s Garage, Ltd., Burnett Street, Ashburton, has
applied for permission to shift two pumps from their present site
in Burnett Street, Ashburton, to a new site on the corner of Cass
and Havelock Roads, Ashburton.

Balfour Motors, Ltd., Balfour, has applied for permission to
shift four of the six pumps from their present position on the Main
Highway at Balfour to a new site 200 yards distant on the proposed
new Highway at Balfour.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than 4 December 1952, submit
any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
