Board of Trade Notice No. 41—Review of Import Licensing

IT is hereby notified that the Board of Trade has examined the objections lodged to the proposed exemption from import licensing of the following items in the Import Licensing Schedule and has decided not to recommend de-control until after a review of the appropriate tariff duties has taken place:—

34 Stearine, on declaration that it will be used only in the manufacture of candles, matches, soaps, leather, or other articles approved by the Minister.

66 Spices, ground, n.e.i., including pepper, pimento and olive-stones, ground.

191 (3) Yarn, viz., Flax and hemp.

Ex 425 (2) Cordage, rope or twine, ne.i., other kinds (excluding sash cord; shop twines of jute or cotton; blind and picture cord; sash light cord; trolley cord; log lines; nylon rope or cord; radio dial cord).
It is further notified that tariff review hearings in respect of the above items will not take place before 1 April 1953.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925—Cancellation of Registration
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925, the registration of the Palmerston North Retail Booksellers' and News Agents' Industrial Union of Employers, Registered No. 1631, situated at Palmerston North, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Infected Areas Declared Under the Citrus Canker Regulations 1952
(Notice No. Ag. 5356)

IT is hereby notified for public information that the areas of land described in the Schedule hereto have been declared to be infected areas for the purposes of the Citrus Canker Regulations 1952.

SCHEDULE
First, all that area of land containing 1 rood 5.7 perches, being Lot IV, D.P. 4709, part Section A, Town Belt, New Plymouth, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 115, folio 68.
Secondly, all that area of land containing 28.97 perches, being part Section B, Fitzroy District, Block IV, Paritutu Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 150, folio 112.
Thirdly, all that area of land containing 27.2 perches, being part of New Plymouth Town Belt, Lot 9 of subdivision of Deeds Plan 21, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 123, folio 224.
Fourthly, all that area of land containing 2 roods 4.6 perches, being Lot 77, part Section 181, Patea Survey District, Block VI, Hawera, Extension Township No. 1, D.P. 2592, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 65, folio 1.

Price Order No. 1423 (Furniture)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, hereby makes the following Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1423, and shall come into force on the 14th day of November 1952.
  2. This Order applies to furniture manufactured in New Zealand in respect of which the maximum factory selling-price at which the manufacturer may sell the furniture is at the date of this Order fixed by an approval under section 16 of the Control of Prices Act, 1947.
  3. The maximum factory selling-price that may be charged or received by any manufacturer of goods to which this Order applies shall be the maximum factory selling-price fixed, on the coming into force of this Order, by the approval relating to the goods (as amended by Price Order No. 1227* where that Order applies) increased by an amount calculated at the rate of 6½d. for each twenty shillings of that price.
  4. Every approval in force at the date of this Order fixing the maximum factory selling price at which a manufacturer may sell furniture shall be read subject to this Order and shall be deemed to be amended accordingly.
  5. Price Order No. 1227* is hereby revoked.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as permanent State forest land.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hokianga County, containing by admeasurement 413 acres 1 rood 12 perches, more or less, situated in Blocks III and IV, Mangamuka Survey District, being Lots 56, 57, 58, 59, and 60 as shown on plan No. 540, deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, being part of Ahutoatoa Block, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 1030, folio 214 (Auckland Land Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 5/53, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
