RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Meat Act 1939 and amendments, the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act 1951, the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926 and regulations thereunder, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows :-

" That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on an amount of eleven thousand pounds (£11,000) to be known as the Municipal Abattoir Improvement Loan 1952, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of installing at the municipal abattoir an alternator and voltage regulator, and outloading conveyer (slat type), providing a conveyer from the new beef house to the existing chill rooms, completing the construction of new chill rooms, and meeting the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny (½d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Opihi Flood Damage Restoration Amalgamated Loan 1952, of £21,250

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and section 70 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 the South Canterbury Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows :

" That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the amalgamated loan of £21,250 under the above-mentioned Acts for flood-damage restoration on the Opihi River and its tributaries, the said South Canterbury Catchment Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·7d. on lands classed A, of 0·56d. on lands classed B, of 0·42d. on lands classed C, of 0·21d. on lands classed D, of 0·14d. on lands classed E, of 0·07d. on lands classed F upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Opihi River Special Rating District as defined in the Schedule attached hereto, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the South Canterbury Catchment Board held on Thursday, 14 August 1952 and confirmed at a meeting held on Thursday, 11 September 1952.
