Vesting a Reserve in the Christchurch City Council

At the Government House at Wellington, this 3rd day of September 1952
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for recreation purposes:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 9 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch, in trust, for recreation purposes.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

RESERVE 4601, situated in Block II, Sumner Survey District: Area, 2 acres 2 roods 7·4 perches, more or less. Subject to the reservations and conditions imposed by Section 59 of the Land Act 1948. (S.O. plan 8291.)

Vesting a Reserve in the Normanby Town Board

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for a site for a public hall:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Administrator of the Government, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Normanby Town Board:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 9 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Normanby Town Board, in trust, as a site for a public hall.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 6·4 perches, more or less, being Section 708 (formerly part Sections 17 and 589), Patea District, situated in Block I, Hawera Survey District, being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 33, folio 239, and part of the land comprised and described in Deeds Index, Volume 8, folios 459 and 527 (Taranaki Registry). Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Taurikura Public Hall Board

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a site for a public hall:
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—

Norman Valentine Baker,
Joseph Clifford Capey,
William James Crook,
George Nelson Howe, and
Nora Ivy Robinson

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Taurikura Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as the Board), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Saturday, the 27th day of September 1952, at 8 o’clock p.m. at the Taurikura Public Hall, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at such time and place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his (or her) stead.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the 31st day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Taurikura and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board; provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 32·7 perches, more or less, being Lot 3 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 17413, being part Allotment 15, Manaia Parish.

And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Kawakawa Town Board:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests the control of the said reserve in the Kawakawa Town Board.

ALL that area situated in Block XVI, Kawakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 11·3 perches, more or less, being Lots 18 and 19 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 38604, being part Section 3, Suburbs of Kawakawa. Subject to the reservations and conditions imposed by section 59 of the Land Act 1948. (S.O. plan 36915.)
