A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Sir Humphrey Francis O’Leary, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 25th day of August 1952.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 12·8 perches.
Being part Rural Section 9.
Situated in the Borough of Riccarton (Canterbury R.D.).

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 136960, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Varying the Determinations in Respect of Loans or Portions Thereof Being Raised by the Hastings Borough Council

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of August 1952
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Orders in Council made on the 9th day of October 1946 and the 18th day of August 1948, and subject to the determinations as to borrowing and repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising in New Zealand by the Hastings Borough Council (hereinafter called the said local authority) of the respective loans specified in the first column of the Schedule hereunder:
And whereas the authorities conferred by the said Orders in Council have not been exercised to the extent of the respective amounts specified in the second column of the said Schedule:
And whereas it is expedient to vary the determinations in respect of the balances or portions of the said respective loans as specified in the third column of the said Schedule (hereinafter called the said respective sums):
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 11 of the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, as set out in section 29 of the Finance Act 1932 (No. 2), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby varies the determinations aforesaid in respect of the said respective sums by prescribing as follows:—

In lieu of terms of twenty-five (25) years, as specified in clause 1 of the said Orders in Council, the terms for which the said respective sums or any parts thereof may be raised shall not exceed four (4) years.

In lieu of repayment by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments of principal and interest, as specified in clause 3 of the said Orders in Council, the said local authority shall, before raising the said respective sums or any parts thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing sinking funds under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, or under such other statutory enactment as may be applicable, and shall thereafter make payments to such sinking funds at intervals of not more than one year at a rate or rates per centum which shall be not less than two pounds fourteen shillings and tenpence (£2 14s. 10d.), such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said respective sums for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, the first such payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender or lenders is computed on the said respective sums or any parts thereof so raised.
