Price Order No. 1400 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 1398) (Australian Potatoes)
Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order:—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1400, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1398* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

This Order shall come into force on the 15th day of August 1952.

The principal Order is hereby amended as follows:—
By inserting after the word “Auckland” in line 3 of clause 4 (a) the following words: “New Plymouth”.

Price Order No. 1399 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 1389) (New Zealand Lemons Other Than Meyer Lemons)
Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order:—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1399, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1389* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

This Order shall come into force on the 18th day of August 1952.

The principal Order is hereby amended as follows:—
By revoking clause 4 (1), and substituting the following clause:—
“MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES
“4. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the maximum retail price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any lemons to which this Order applies shall be computed as follows:—
“(a) For lemons sold at any place in the North Island, north of a straight line drawn from Tirua Point on the West Coast to Young Nick’s Head on the East Coast: At the rate of 11d. per pound.
“(b) For lemons sold elsewhere in the North Island: At the rate of 11½d. per pound.
“(c) For lemons sold in the South Island: At the rate of 1s. 1d. per pound.”
Dated at Wellington, this 13th day of August 1952.

The Standards Act, 1941—Specification Declared to be a Standard Specification
Notice is hereby given that on 6 August 1952, the under-mentioned specification was declared to be a standard specification by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, pursuant to section 8 of the Standards Act 1941:—
Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 658: Dimensions and workmanship of fireclay sinks.

Election of Grower Representative on the Potato Board
Pursuant to section 6 of the Potato Growing Industry Act 1950 and under the provisions of the Potato Board Election Regulations 1951, notice is hereby given that the roll of growers entitled to vote in the event of a poll being necessary for the election of the Northern Ward (the North Island) grower representative on the Potato Board, will be open for public inspection during ordinary office hours for a period of seven days from the 20th day of August 1952, at the Head Office of the Board, Wellington, the office of the Department of Agriculture, Palmerston North, the office of Hodder and Tolley, Ltd., Marton, the office of the Manawatu Potato and Opiki Growers’ Association, Palmerston North, and the office of the Rangitikei Potato Growers’ Association, Marton.
Nomination forms may be had on application to any of the above offices or from the Returning Officer, Box 702, Wellington.
Nominations must be in the hands of the Returning Officer by not later than noon on the 3rd day of September 1952.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act 1936 (Tuparoa Development Scheme)
Pursuant to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Maori Land Amendment Act 1936, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby revokes, so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto, a certain notice dated the 9th day of November 1934 and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 83 of the 15th day of November 1934, at page 3612, whereby the provisions of subsection (3) of section 522 of the Maori Land Act 1931 (now Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act 1936) were applied to, inter alia, the said land.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Te Awamutu taken on the 30th day of July 1952 on the proposal of the Te Awamutu Borough Council to borrow the sum of £97,500 for a Waterworks Extension Loan,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 221
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 160
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
