Officers Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

FREYBERG, Governor-General

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301
of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron
Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby notify
and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule
hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices
stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are
authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under
section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927.

Member Appointed to Hundalee Scenic Reserves Board

FREYBERG, Governor-General

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 6th day of October 1948,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 14th day
of that month, the control of certain reserves in the Marlborough
Land District, known as the Hundalee Scenic Reserves, was vested
in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant
constituted a special Board by the name of the Hundalee Scenic
Reserves Board, pursuant to section 13 of the Scenery Preservation
Act 1908:

And whereas it is desirable that Montague Frederick Foate
should by appointed a member of the said Board in place of James
David Eric Winskill, deceased:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby
appoints the said

Montague Frederick Foate

to be a member of the Hundalee Scenic Reserves Board constituted
by the Warrant dated the 6th day of October 1948, hereinbefore
referred to, in place of the said James David Eric Winskill.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 29th day of July 1952.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of State Forest Land in the Auckland
Conservancy for Other Land

FREYBERG, Governor-General

WHEREAS by section 22 of the Forests Act 1949, it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever
he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple
any area of State forest land which is subject to the provisions of
the Forests Act 1949, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other
land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way
of equality of exchange:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is
expedient to exchange the area of State forest land described in the
First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the
Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the
Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of New
Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth
hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of
State forest land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange
for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangaroa
County, situated in Block XI, Kaeo Survey District, containing by
admeasurement 15 acres 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being part
of Mokau Block, as shown on a plan numbered 36883 lodged in the
office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and being part of the land
set apart as permanent State forest by a Proclamation published in
New Zealand Gazette No. 43 of the 7th day of June 1906, page 1428.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 5/51,
deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service,
Wellington, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangaroa
County, containing by admeasurement 19 acres 1 rood 15 perches,
more or less, being Sections 21 and 23, Block XL, Kaeo Survey
District, and parts of Mokau Block, as shown on plan numbered
36883, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and
being part of the land comprised and described in certificates of
title, Volume 658, folio 220, and Volume 778, folio 116 (Auckland
Land Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on
plan No. 5/51, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand
Forest Service, Wellington, and thereon edged green.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 29th day of July 1952.

Lands Reserved in the North Auckland and Wellington Land Districts

WHEREAS by section 167 of the Land Act 1948 it is enacted
that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart
as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under
pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for
any purpose which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest,
and notice thereof shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 167 of the said Act, I,
Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New
Zealand, hereby reserve, subject to the reservations and conditions
imposed by section 59 of the Land Act 1948, the lands in the North
Auckland and Wellington Land Districts described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purposes specified at the end of the
respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be reserved.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL those areas situated in Blocks VII and VIII, Opaheke Survey
District, containing by admeasurement a total of 1,458 acres and
2 perches, more or less, being Allotments 117, 122, 123, 124, 125,
126, and part Allotment 63, Parish of Otau. As the same are
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/937A,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey,
at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. plans 29201 and
30471.) (Water-conservation.)

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

All that area containing by admeasurement 36-07 perches,
more or less, being Lot 55 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land
Registry Office at Wellington under No. 15546, being part Section
17, Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District. (General education.)

Also all that area situated in Block I, Otahuhu Survey District,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 2-3 perches, more or less,
being Lot 23 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry
Office at Auckland under No. 38017, being part Allotments 3A and 4,
Small Lots near Onehunga, and part Allotment 13, Section 12,
Suburbs of Auckland. (S.O. plan 36945.)

this 1st day of August 1952.
