Director of the Timaru Milk Treatment Corporation Appointed
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in
pursuance of subclause (3) of regulation 6 of the Timaru
Milk Treatment Corporation Regulations 1946 to appoint
George Dunnett
to be a lDirector of the Timaru Milk Treatment Corporation as a
representative of producers in place of William Alexander Mackie,
resigned.

Time and Place of an Election by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill
an Extraordinary Vacancy on the Fire Committee for the Bluff
Urban Fire District
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949,
the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 10 a.m. on
Tuesday, 12 August 1952, the time and the offices of the Fire
and Accident Underwriters Association, Dunedin, as the place for
the holding of a meeting of representatives of the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect one member of the Fire
Committee for the Bluff Urban Fire District.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in Wanganui City (Notice No.
Ag. 5286)

THE following special order, made by the Wanganui City Council
on the 15th day of July 1952, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.
SPECIAL ORDER
WHEREAS at a special meeting of the Wanganui City Council, duly
convened and held at the City Council Chambers situate in St. Hill
Street, Wanganui, on the 17th day of June 1952, the resolution
hereafter mentioned was passed by way of special order: And
whereas at a subsequent meeting of the Council, duly convened and
held at the place aforesaid on the 15th day of July 1952, the said
resolution was duly confirmed as a special order of the Council;
Now, therefore, the said Council doth hereby in exercise of the
powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations
Act 1933 and its amendments and the Noxious Weeds Act 1950
and in exercise of all other powers enabling it in that behalf by
special order resolve as follows:--
"That certain plants mentioned in the First Schedule to the
Noxious Weeds Act 1950--namely, Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and
Rubus laciniatus), Gorse (Ulex, any species), Hemlock (Conium
maculatum), Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea), and Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa)--be and the same are hereby declared to
be noxious weeds within the City of Wanganui the boundaries
whereof are defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of
August 1926, No. 53, at pages 2500 and 2501."

THE following special order, made by the Thames County Council
on the 17th day of July 1952, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.
SPECIAL ORDER
THAT, pursuant to the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950
the Thames County Council hereby resolves by way of a special
order to declare the following noxious weed listed in the First
Schedule of this Act to be a noxious weed in the County of Thames--
viz., Boxthorn.

SPECIAL ORDER
That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious
Weeds Act 1950, the Otamatea County Council resolves by way of
special order that Bathurst bur (Xanthium spinosum) be declared a
noxious weed within the County of Otamatea."
