The Drug Tariff (September 1946), Amendment No. 15

PURSUANT to section 90 of the Social Security Act 1938, the Minister of Health hereby issues the following direction:—

1. (1) This direction may be cited as the Drug Tariff (September 1946), Amendment No. 15, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Drug Tariff (September 1946)* (hereinafter referred to as the principal direction).

(2) This direction shall come into force on the 1st day of February 1952.

2. This direction shall take effect with respect to all medical prescriptions and midwifery orders (whatever the date thereof) that are presented to a contractor for fulfilment on or after the 1st day of February 1952.

3. The following material is included in the table of materials allowed under paragraph (b) of clause 5 of the principal direction:—

Aluminium, in fine powder.

4. The following materials are included under paragraph (b) of clause 5 of the principal direction, subject to the condition that they are supplied by a Hospital Board approved by the Director-General of Health under conditions that are defined from time to time by the Director-General of Health:—

Para-acetylaminobenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone, also known as TB1, or Thiacetazone,

Para-ethylsulphonylbenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone, also known as TB3,

Tetrasodium (phenylpropylamino) - diphenylsulphone - tetrasulphonate also known as Sulphetrone, or Promin, or Glucosulfone Sodium.

5. The reference in Part 2 of the New Zealand Formulary to the First Schedule to the Rules of Prescription Pricing shall, where applicable, be deemed to be the Prescription Pricing Supplement 1952/1, issued by the Pharmacy Plan Industrial Committee.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

K. R. White, Wikaraka Street, Ngongataha, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service station and garage premises at Wikaraka Street, Ngongataha.

B. G. Gorton, Gorge Road, Southland, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Gorge Road, Southland.

John Hunt Ltd., 350 High Street, Lower Hutt, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on motor-cycling business premises at 350 High Street, Lower Hutt.
