The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925—Proposed Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 23 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925, the registration of the Nelson Industrial District Coal Mine Workers Industrial Union of Workers, Registered No. 1703, situated at Mangarakau, Collingwood, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date of this notice.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925—Proposed Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 23 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1925, the registration of the Waiuta Quartz Gold Miners’ Industrial Union of Workers, Registered No. 1994, situated at Waiuta, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date of this notice.

Board of Trade Notice No. 31—Public Inquiry into Tariff Duties on Electric Motors

Board of Trade,
8 July 1952.

  1. The Board of Trade proposes to inquire into and report upon the question of what rate of duty should be imposed on electric motors which are included in Tariff Item 338/1 (a) (electric motors up to and including 25 BHP) and Tariff Item 338/1 (b) (electric motors n.e.i.).

The present rates of duty for both items are—
British Preferential: Free.
Most Favoured Nation: 20%.
Switzerland: 20%.
General: 25% plus surtax at the rate of nine-fortieths of the amount of duty.

  1. For the purpose of taking evidence on the review of these parts of the Tariff Item, the Board will hold a public inquiry commencing on Tuesday, 30 September 1952, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, First Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington.

  2. Any person who intends to tender evidence should comply with the notes for the guidance of witnesses which have been approved by the Board. A copy of these notes may be obtained from the office of any Collector of Customs or from the under named.

  3. A typewritten statement of the evidence to be tendered, compiled in accordance with these notes of guidance, should be lodged with the under named on or before Tuesday, 16 September, 1952. Each statement will, in general, need to be read under oath at the public inquiry by the person tendering it.
