A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, by a Proclamation dated the 6th day of May 1952 and published
in the Gazette on the 9th day of the same month, I proclaimed the names
boundaries of the electoral districts of New Zealand fixed by the Representation
Commission, as set forth in the Schedule of descriptions of those boundaries
attached to the report of the Representation Commission made to me under the
Electoral Amendment Act 1945:

And whereas the descriptions of the boundaries of the electoral districts of
Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, and Hawke’s Bay as set forth in the said Schedule and
in the said Proclamation do not correctly describe the boundaries of those
districts as fixed by the Representation Commission and shown on the maps
attached to the report:

And whereas the Representation Commission has made a supplementary
report to me setting forth the correct descriptions of the boundaries of those
electoral districts fixed by the Commission in accordance with the said Act:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 6 of the Electoral Amendment Act 1945,
I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby
revoke so much of the Schedule to the said Proclamation as relates to the electoral
districts of Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, and Hawke’s Bay, and hereby proclaim the
names and boundaries of those electoral districts so fixed by the Representation
Commission to be those respectively set out in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

CORRECTED DESCRIPTIONS OF BOUNDARIES OF CERTAIN ELECTORAL DISTRICTS
BAY OF PLENTY

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea-coast in the middle
of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 15, Block I, Te Tumu Survey
District; thence easterly generally along the sea-coast to East Cape, and southerly generally
along the sea-coast, crossing the mouths of all harbours and inlets, to the northern boundary
of Pakarae 1A Block in Block XI, Whangara Survey District; thence along that boundary
and the northern boundary of Pakarae 1D Block and its production to the middle of the
Pakarae River; thence up the middle of that river to the western boundary of Section 2,
Block XIII, Uawa Survey District; thence along that boundary, the south-western boundary
of Lot 8, on the plan numbered 2342, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar
at Gisborne, and the southern and south-western boundaries of Lot 9, on the plan numbered
2342 aforesaid, to the middle of the Mangarara Stream; thence up the middle of that stream
to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 3 of Small Grazing Run No. 43 to a public
road; thence across that road and along the boundary of Lot 2 of Small Grazing Run 44A
to the middle of the Hinakiwawahia Stream; thence down the middle of that stream and
down the middle of the Kaitangata Stream to the south-eastern boundary of Section 1,
Block XI, Waingaromia Survey District; thence north-easterly along that boundary and
the south-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block XI, aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner
of the said Section 3; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Small
Grazing Run No. 42 to its intersection with the middle of a public road; thence northerly
along the middle of that road to its junction with the Waiapu Inland Road; thence westerly
generally along the middle of the Waiapu Inland Road to a point in line with the north-
eastern boundary of Lot 3 on the plan numbered 1696, deposited in the office of the District
Land Registrar at Gisborne; thence north-westerly to and along the last-mentioned boundary
to the eastern boundary of Lot 11 on the plan numbered 1696, aforesaid; thence south-
westerly generally along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of the said Lot 11, the
north-western boundaries of Lots 7 and 3 on the said plan numbered 1696, and the north-
western boundaries of Lots 4 and 6 on the plan numbered 1697, deposited as aforesaid, the
south-eastern boundary of Lot 8, the north-eastern boundary of Lot 5, and the south-western
boundary of Lot 7, all on the said plan numbered 1697, to the north-eastern corner of Lot 2
on the plan numbered 1695, deposited as aforesaid; thence south-easterly generally along
the eastern boundary of that lot to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 5 on the plan numbered
1698, deposited as aforesaid; thence again south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary
of the said Lot 5, a distance of approximately 100 chains, to the middle of the Waitangi
Road; thence continuing south-easterly along the middle of that road to the eastern boundary
of the said Lot 5; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of that lot, the northern
and north-western boundaries of Lots 2 and 1 on the plan numbered 2139, deposited as
aforesaid, and of Lease No. 6259, deposited in the Deeds Registry Office at Gisborne, to
the Mokaihau Trig. Station; thence along the north-western and western boundaries of
Hauomatuku No. 6 Block to the Hauomatuku Stream; thence to and down the middle of
that stream and down the middle of the Waipaoa River to its confluence with a stream
forming the south-western boundaries of Whatatutu 1A and 1B Blocks; thence up the middle
of that stream to the southern boundary of Whatatutu A Block; thence westerly along that
boundary and the southern boundary of Whatatutu B 3c Block and its production to the
middle of the Puha–Whatatutu Road; thence northerly along the middle of that road to its
junction with the Mangatu Road; thence westerly along the middle of that road to the
