Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Masterton County (Notice
No. Ag. 5258)

Wellington, 3 June 1952.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton County
Council on the 13th day of May 1952, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers, provisions, and
authorities vested in that behalf by the Counties Act 1920 and the
Noxious Weeds Act 1950 or otherwise enabling it in that behalf,
the Council of the County of Masterton doth hereby, by special
order, declare that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto
(being plants included in the First Schedule of the Noxious Weeds
Act 1950) shall be deemed to be noxious weeds within the County
of Masterton, and ordered to come into operation on the 1st day of
June 1952.

SCHEDULE

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Californian thistle (Cirsium arvense).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Goat's Rue (Galega officinalis).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum).
Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus).
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).

And it is further resolved that the said special order shall be in
substitution of any previous special order relating to the declaration
of noxious weeds, and any such special order is hereby revoked
and shall cease to have any effect after the coming into force of this
special order.

THE following special order, made by the Mount Herbert County
Council on the 18th day of April 1952, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

In exercise of the power conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious
Weeds Act 1950, the Mount Herbert County Council resolved by
way of special order as follows:

"That the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto, being
plants included in the First Schedule of the Noxious Weeds Act
1950, be declared noxious weeds within the County of Mount Herbert,
