Declaring Lands in the Gisborne, Nelson, Marlborough, and Canterbury
Land Districts Vested in the Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, and Canterbury
Education Boards as Sites for Public Schools, to be Vested in Her
Majesty the Queen

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education
Lands Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act),
it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any
other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Pro-
clamation, declare that any school-site or part of a school-site
which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be
vested in Her Majesty; and thereupon the school-site or part
thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in Her Majesty freed and
discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but
subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting
the same at the date of the Proclamation:
Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the
said Act, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the First Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the
Hawke’s Bay Education Board, the lands described in the Second
Schedule hereto, being areas vested in the Nelson Education Board,
and the lands described in the Third Schedule hereto, being areas
vested in the Canterbury Education Board as sites for public schools,
shall be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, freed and discharged
from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all
leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the
date hereof.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 1, Block IX, Uawa Survey District: Area, 9 acres 2 roods
30 perches, more or less. (S.O. plan 871.)

less, being Lot 2 of Section 3, Block VII, Kongahu Survey District.

All that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less,
being parts of Rural Sections 9492 and 9492x, Block I, Okains
Survey District, being all the land comprised and described in
certificate of title, Volume 148, folio 281 (Canterbury Registry).

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act
1948, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General
of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road
described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 2 acres 12·1 perches.
Adjoining Lot 2 and part Lot 1, D.P. 11796, being Rural Section
36834 and parts Rural Sections 2147 and 4349, and part
Reserve 161.
Situated in Block XV, Christchurch Survey District (Canterbury
R.D.). (S.O. 8451.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particu-
larly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 137261, deposited in
the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 9th day
of June 1952.
