THE MINING ACT 1926
NOTICE is hereby given that I will apply to the Warden’s Court at Cromwell on Wednesday the 11th day of June 1952, at 10 a.m., for the grant to me of a Water-race Licence to divert half a head of water from an unnamed creek in Section 3, Block IX, Lower Hawea Survey District, by means of a race 2,145 yards long proceeding from east to west through my own lands, said Section 3 and Section 21, Block VII, of same district, for irrigation and stock-watering purposes.
Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s Office, Cromwell, and notified to the applicant or his solicitors, Brodrick and Parcell, Cromwell, at least three days before the above date of hearing.

NORTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and all other powers enabling it thereto, the North Canterbury Electric-Power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of £70,000, authorized to be raised by the North Canterbury Electric-power Board under the provisions of the Electric-power Boards Act 1925 and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 for the purpose of providing additional moneys for the extension of the electrical reticulation system in those portions of the Rangiora, Kowai, Eyre, Oxford, Ashley, Waipara, Cheviot, and Amuri Counties within the Board’s district, the North Canterbury Electric-power Board makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the special rating area cited above ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 30th day of March in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I, Henry Thompson Metherell, Chairman of the North Canterbury Electric-power Board, do hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the North Canterbury Electric Power Board held in Rangiora on the 10th day of April 1952.

TAUPO TOWN BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Taupo Town Board resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of thirty-seven thousand pounds (£37,000), authorized to be raised by the Taupo Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the hydro-electric power-supply scheme, the said Taupo Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence and nineteen thirty-seconds of a penny (2¹⁹⁄₃₂d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Town District of Taupo, comprising the whole of the said town district ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of August and the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was made by the Taupo Town Board on the 17th day of April 1952.

I, IVAN LYNN RUFF, of Hamilton, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Civil Servant, named and registered in the Register of Births as IVAN LYNN DEVEY, hereby give public notice that on the 23rd day of April 1952 by deed-poll then duly executed by me, and on the 5th day of May 1952 enrolled with the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Hamilton as No. G.R. 3129, I formally and absolutely renounced the use of my said surname of DEVEY, and in lieu thereof assumed and adopted the surname of RUFF.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928
NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act to execute a certain public work—namely, the provision of a municipal depot—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken ; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk at the Town Hall, Auckland, and it is open for public inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Auckland.

ALL that piece of land containing 1 rood 3 perches, more or less, situated in the City of Auckland, being Allotment 26 of Section 39 of the City of Auckland, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 598, folio 90, Auckland Registry (limited as to parcels).
