Price Order No. 1368 (Australian Potatoes)

P
URSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, hereby makes the following Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1368, and shall
    come into force on the 3rd day of April 1952.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. This Order applies with respect to all potatoes imported
    from Australia into New Zealand and sold by way of retail.

FIXING MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES OF POTATOES TO WHICH THIS
ORDER APPLIES

  1. The maximum price that may be charged or received for any
    potatoes to which this Order applies that are sold by way of retail
    shall be determined as follows:—
    (a) Where the potatoes are sold by any retailer whose place
    of business is situate within a radius of twenty miles
    from the principal Post Office at Auckland or the prin-
    cipal Post Office at Wellington the maximum price
    shall be 7d. per pound.
    (b) Where the potatoes are sold by any retailer whose place
    of business is situate elsewhere than a locality referred
    to in paragraph (a) hereof the maximum price shall be
    7½d. per pound.

DUTY IMPOSED ON RETAILERS

  1. Every retailer who offers or exposes any potatoes to which
    this Order applies for sale in any shop shall keep in a prominent
    position in such proximity to the potatoes to which it relates as
    to be obviously descriptive thereof a ticket, placard, or label on
    which shall be stated in legible and prominent characters the word
    “ Australian ” and the retail price per pound.

OTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule
hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as
permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY

ALL those areas in the Otago Land District, Bruce County, con-
taining by admeasurement 171 acres 3 roods 7·6 perches, more or
less, and described generally as follows:—

All that area containing by admeasurement 170 acres 2 roods
30 perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on plan No. 7210, deposited in
the Land Registry Office at Dunedin, being parts of Sections 1, 2,
4, and 35, Block VII, Claredon Survey District, and being all the land
comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 353, folio 115
(Otago Registry).

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre and
17·6 perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on plan No. 7234, deposited
in the Land Registry Office at Dunedin, being part of Section 32,
Block VII, Claredon Survey District, and being all the land com-
prised and described in certificate of title, Volume 355, folio 82
(Otago Registry).

As the same are more particularly delineated on plans No.
215/18 and 215/19, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand
Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
