Exempting Leasehold Interest in the Canterbury Land District from
the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925


FREYBERG, Governor-General

WHEREAS Her Majesty the Queen for the purposes of Part III
of the Coal Mines Act 1925, is the holder of an estate of
leasehold in the land described in the Schedule hereto :

And whereas the said leasehold interest is no longer required
for the purposes of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925 :

Now, therefore, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the
Governor-General of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred upon me by subsection (2)
of section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, and of all other powers
and authorities enabling me in this behalf, hereby declare that the
said leasehold interest shall be exempt from the operation of Part
III of the Coal Mines Act 1925 ; and hereby further declare that
this notice shall take effect as from the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land situate in the City of Timaru, containing
by admeasurement 39·5 perches, more or less, being Section No. 18,
Fraser Street, on the foreshore south of the Breakwater, Timaru,
as shown on the Timaru Harbour Board Section Plan, and having
a frontage to Fraser Street of 108 ft. with a depth of 132 ft., and
being all the land in Deed of Lease dated the 9th day of February
1951 between the Timaru Harbour Board and Her Majesty the
Queen.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 14th day of March 1952.
