Also all that street or portion of street in the Borough of Alexandra, commencing at the north-eastern boundary of the said borough, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Tarbert Street, and terminating at its junction with the Milton-Queenstown Main Highway at Centennial Avenue, being a distance of 62 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 135644, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Earnscleugh.—All that road or portion of road in the Vincent County, commencing at a point on the Milton-Queenstown Main Highway at Section 42, Block I, Fraser Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction to the junction with Conroy's Gully Road at the northern corner of Section 5, Block I, Fraser Survey District, thence in a northerly direction via the Clyde Bridge over the Clutha River to the Township of Clyde, via Coquet Street and Cheviot Street, and terminating at its junction with the Milton-Queenstown Main Highway at Section 1a Block I, Township of Clyde, being a distance of 7 miles 43 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 135640, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 17

Hospital Road (Lawrence).—All that street or portion of street in the Borough of Lawrence known as Whitehaven Street, commencing at its junction with the Milton-Queenstown Main Highway at a point opposite the northern corner of Section 15, Block VIII, Borough of Lawrence, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction, and terminating at its junction with Harrington Street at a point opposite the south-eastern corner of Section 12, Block XIII, Borough of Lawrence, being a distance of 12 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 135982, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 18

Queenstown-Invercargill.—All that road or portion of road in the Southland County, commencing at the boundary of the said county at the Mataura River at the north-eastern corner of Section 102, Block XXVIII, Eyre Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Lumsden, Caroline, Dipton, Limehills, Winton, Lochiel Deviation, and Makarewa, but excluding those portions in the Lumsden Town District and the Winton Borough, and terminating at the southern end of the Waihopai River Bridge at the northern boundary of the City of Invercargill, being a distance of 65 miles 73 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 136061, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Limehills-Browns-Lochiel.—All that road or portion of road in the Southland County, commencing at its junction with the Queenstown-Invercargill Main Highway at Limehills at the north-eastern corner of Section 1, Block V, Winton Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly and south-easterly direction to its junction with the Winton-Gore Main Highway at the south-east corner of Section 100, Block VII, Forest Hill Hundred, recommencing at its junction with the Winton-Gore Main Highway at the north-eastern corner of Section 19, Block III, Winton Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and westerly direction via Thompson's Crossing Road, McConnochie's Road, and Forest Hill Crossing Road, and terminating at its junction with the Queenstown-Invercargill Main Highway at Lochiel at the north-eastern corner of Section 17, Block IX, New River Hundred, being a distance of 15 miles 42 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 136060, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Riverton-Rocks.—All that road or portion of road in the Wallace County, commencing at the south-eastern boundary of the Borough of Riverton at a point opposite the northernmost corner of Section 4A, Block II, Jacobs River Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction along sea-front road, and terminating at the north-western corner of Section 12, Block II, Jacobs River Hundred, being a distance of 1 mile 12 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 136056, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Lochiel-Branxholm - Buxton's Corner.—All that road or portion of road of road in the Southland County, commencing at its junction with the Queenstown-Invercargill Main Highway at Lochiel at the north-eastern corner of Section 23, Block I, Winton Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and south-easterly direction via Lochiel and Branxholm, and terminating at its junction with the Queenstown-Invercargill Main Highway at the south-eastern corner of Section 25, Block XIII, Invercargill Hundred, being a distance of 9 miles 75 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 136059, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Ryal Bush - Wallacetown.—All that road or portion of road in the Southland County known as the Ryal Bush Road, commencing at its junction with the Queenstown-Invercargill Main Highway at Ryal Bush at the north-eastern corner of Section 15, Block III, New River Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in a south-
westerly direction, and terminating at its junction with the Lorne-Riverton Main Highway at the south-east corner of Section 1, Block I, Wallacetown Township, being a distance of 5 miles 10 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 136058, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Lochiel-Northhope.—All that road or portion of road in the Southland County, commencing at its junction with the Queenstown-Invercargill Main Highway at Lochiel at the north-eastern corner of Section 17, Block IX, New River Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction along Forest Hill Crossing Road, Substation Road, and Lochiel Bridge Road, and terminating at its junction with the Oporo Flat Road opposite Section 37, Block XIII, New River Hundred, being a distance of 3 miles 30 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 136057, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Fosters.—All that road or portion of road in the Wallace County, commencing at its junction with the Groopers Bush - Waimatuku Main Highway at the south-eastern corner of Section 43, Block VII, Jacobs River Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly, and thence in a south-easterly direction, and terminating at its junction with the Lorne-Riverton Main Highway at the south-eastern corner of Section 55, Block VII, Jacobs River Hundred, being a distance of 1 mile 7 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 136055, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Authorizing Michael Hyland, Jun., of Tikitiki, Hotelkeeper, to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines in the County of Waiapu

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes Michael Hyland, jun., of Tikitiki, Hotelkeeper (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.


CONDITIONS

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS

The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

  1. DURATION OF LICENCE

Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1965, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.


SCHEDULE

Lines for the supply of electrical energy by the system of supply hereinbefore described, as follows:—

  1. Commencing from the licensee's generators and proceeding:—
    (a) Westerly to a washhouse;
    (b) North-westerly to an hotel;
    (c) Northerly to a pole situated near a shop.

  2. Commencing from the said pole and proceeding:—
    (a) South-easterly to a shed;
    (b) Easterly to a residence;
    (c) Northerly to a shop.

  3. Commencing from the said shop and proceeding south-westerly to a billiard-room.

  4. Commencing from the licensee's garages and proceeding northerly by underground cable to a car-shed.

All being situated in part Section 196c, Block VI, Waiapu Survey District, in the County of Waiapu; the said lines being more particularly shown by means of red lines on the plan marked S.H.D. 166, deposited in the office of the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department.
