APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A WATER-RACE
UNDER THE MINING ACT 1926
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Roxburgh.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act 1926, the undersigned, Aubrey Fred Baillie, of Coal Creek, Fruitgrower, and Margaret Addie Baillie, his wife, hereby apply for a licence for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 1 February 1952, at 7 p.m.
Date and number of miner’s right: 1 November 1951, No. 88629.
Address for service: Care of J. C. Mowat, Solicitor, Scotland Street, Roxburgh.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed—e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Commencing at watercourse approximately 300 yards from west bank of Clutha River in Section 111, Block II, Teviot District (Crown land held under occupation lease); thence westerly in a straight line across said Section 111 to boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 6550, 5 chains; thence westerly and southerly across said Lot 2, D.P. 6550 (being private land owned by applicants), 3 chains; and terminating at applicants’ residence on said Lot 2.
Length and intended course of race: 8 chains, westerly and southerly.
Points of intake: One.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Already constructed.
Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. x 1 ft. to carry pipe-line.
Number of heads to be diverted: One.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation, stock, and domestic supply.
Proposed term of licence: Twenty-one years.

RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL THAT THE SYSTEM OF UNIMPROVED RATING BE ADOPTED IN THE BOROUGH OF SHANNON
I HEREBY give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Shannon, taken on the 25th day of February 1952, in connection with a proposal that the system of unimproved rating be adopted in the Borough of Shannon, the voting was as follows:—

NELSON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000 to be known as the Abattoir Loan 1951, authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting an ablation and dining block and a cycle stand at the City Abattoir, the said Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one one-hundred and twenty-eighth of a penny (1/128d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Nelson, comprising the whole of the City of Nelson; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 23rd day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Nelson City Council at its meeting on the 21st day of February 1952.
