Authorizing the Teviot Electric-power Board to Use Water from the
Teviot River for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of
March 1952
Present :
THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
P URSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Electric-
power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
hereby grants to the Teviot Electric-power Board (hereinafter
referred to as the licensee) a licence subject to the conditions
hereinafter set forth, to take and use from the Teviot River (herein-
after referred to as the said stream) at a point situated in Section 26s,
Teviot Settlement, Block VI, Teviot Survey District, in the Land
District of Otago, the said point being approximately two miles
upstream from the confluence of the said stream with the Clutha
River, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not
exceeding 36 cubic feet per second at any one time; and further,
for the purposes of section 76 of the Electric-power Boards Act,
1925, subject to the said conditions, hereby authorizes the licensee
to construct, maintain and use the said electric works.
CONDITIONS
- IMPLIED CONDITIONS
THE conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water-
power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935,
and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in
and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may
be inconsistent with the provisions hereof. - LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
This licence is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934,
and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Radio
Interference Regulations 1934, and to all regulations hereafter made
in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively. - UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of
generating electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at the
headworks situated in Section 26s, Teviot Settlement, Block VI,
Teviot Survey District, as indicated on the plan marked S.H.D. 146
deposited in the office of the Minister in Charge of the State
Hydro-electric Department. - GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions
herein contained or implied, to construct, maintain, operate, and use
the following works for the purposes of this licence, the positions of
the said works being indicated on the said plan S.H.D. 146 :-
(a) Headworks consisting of a diversion weir and intake with
pipe-lines and a tunnel leading to the turbine and
power-house hereinafter referred to, giving a static
head of approximately 115 ft:
(b) Turbine and power-house with all necessary equipment
for generating electricity, situated in Section 26s,
Teviot Settlement, Block VI, Teviot Survey District:
(c) Tail-race leading from the said power-house to the said
stream. - SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (f)
of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The
generating voltage shall be 400 volts and the transmission voltage
shall be 11,000 volts between phases. - DURATION OF LICENCE
This licence shall, unless sooner lawfully determined, continue
in force until the 4th day of September, 1964. - RENTAL
For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable
in respect of this licence, the licensee may install a suitable maximum
demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of
the State Hydro-electric Department, and failing such installation,
the rental shall be determined on the maximum rated capacity of
the generating-plant installed. The present plant is rated at 250
kilowatts. - No RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED
This licence shall not, of itself, confer upon the licensee any
right to water.

Directing the Revision of District Valuation Rolls

consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs that the district
valuation rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto
shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at the 29th day of
February 1952.

P URSUANT to the discretion conferred upon him by subsection (2)
of section 9 of the Valuation of Land Act 1951, the Valuer-General
intends that the authority conferred by the foregoing Order in
Council shall not extend to a revision of the properties on the
valuation rolls for the Kaponga Town District portion of Eltham
County and the Normanby Town District portion of Hawera
County.

P URSUANT to section 31 of the Municipal Corporations Amend-
ment Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
authorizes the Rotorua Borough Council to lay-off the proposed
street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for part of its
length of less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft.

THAT proposed street in the South Auckland Land District, Borough
of Rotorua, containing by admeasurement, firstly, 3'4 perches, being
part Section 122, Suburbs of Rotorua, coloured orange, edged orange
on S.O. plan 34108 ; and, secondly, 36.3 perches, being part Section
122, Suburbs of Rotorua, coloured orange on S.O. plan 34108. As
the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 135040, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at
