Members Appointed to Cape Kidnapper Bird Sanctuary Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 4th day of February 1952

Present:

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the 16th day of February 1949 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 17th day of that month, the control of the land described in the Schedule to that document, being a reserve for the protection of gannets, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Order in Council constituted a special Board, by the name of the Cape Kidnapper Bird Sanctuary Board, in pursuance of section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928 :

And whereas it is desirable that Donald Hillyer Brathwaite and Angus John Wattie should be appointed members of the said Board in place of Peter William George Barlow and Edward Staniland West, resigned :

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoints the said

Donald Hillyer Brathwaite and
Angus John Wattie

to be members of the Cape Kidnapper Bird Sanctuary Board, constituted by the Order in Council dated the 16th day of February, 1949, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said Peter William George Barlow and Edward Staniland West, resigned.

Officer Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Robert Showler, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Sectional Officer, Rehabilitation Department, at Auckland, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927.

a Judge of the Maori Land Court, to be the Judge of the Tairawhiti Maori Land Court District on and from the 18th day of February 1952.

Flying Officer (temp.) Henry Edward OLDALE (132198), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of three years in his present rank, with seniority as from 1 July 1950. Dated 1 December 1951.

Squadron Leader (temp.) Laurence Norman LARSEN, B.Sc. (130738), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of five years, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 6 December 1951.

Squadron Leader (temp.) Walter Ralph DYER, B.Sc. (130924), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of five years, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 10 January 1952.

Squadron Leader (temp.) John Fletcher GABITES, D.Sc. (130925), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of five years, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 10 January 1952.

Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Colin Galloway GREEN, M.Sc. (130372), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of five years, and is appointed to the temporary rank of Squadron Leader with seniority as from date of appointment. Dated 10 January 1952.

Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Mervyn Leslie BROWNIE, M.Sc. (130922), is transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Territorial Air Force for a period of five years, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 11 January 1952.

Cancellations

The notices appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 43, dated 31 May 1951, page 781, and No. 67, dated 16 August 1951, page 1187, under the heading respectively of “Reserve of Air Force Officers—Transfer” and “Reserve of Air Force Officers—Amendment” relating to “Wing Commander John Tregonwell DAVISON, O.B.E., G.M., j.s.s.c. (70020)” are hereby cancelled.

Transfers

Wing Commander John Tregonwell DAVISON, O.B.E., G.M., j.s.s.c. (70020), is transferred from the Active List to the Reserve of Air Force Officers. Dated 2 July 1951.

Flight Lieutenant (temp.) James Suvla Ross ROBERTSON (130405), is transferred from the Administrative and Supply Branch, Special Duties Division, of the Territorial Air Force to the General Duties Branch, Reserve of Air Force Officers, in the rank of Flying Officer with seniority as from 1 December 1944. Dated 31 May 1951.

Retired List

Squadron Leader Sydney Alexander NOBLE, M.B.E., M.M. (73656), is posted to the Retired List “A”. Dated 8 January 1952.
