Electric motors and other components of machines and appliances—
Unless these are shown in the relative decisions as classed separately for Tariff purposes, they are
regarded as parts of and subject to the same Tariff classification as the machines or appliances.
Scals, retainers, or rings, oil and grease, are to be classed as parts of the machines or appliances with
which they are to be used.

Mixtures of dried fruits containing a small proportion of nuts.
Fresh fruit, frozen.
Rusks.
Aureomycin and its salts.
Chloromycetin.
Duomycin.
Benzene hexachloride.
Gammexane.
Trichloroacetic (or trichloracetic) acid, crude or commercial.
Vitamin B₁₂.
Lights, dentists’ operating, specially designed for attachment to dental engines. (Portable stand
lamps are to be classed under Tariff item 340).
Trimming, swansdown.
Plastic floor coverings.
Bandlining, bias cut lining material about 2½ inches wide in 100 yard lengths, sewn to a backing of
canvas, used for trimming trousers.
Bindings, sewn cotton piece goods for making. (The material has been cut diagonally, sewn, and
rolled so that bias binding may be produced by slicing through the end of the roll.)
The note reading “For the purposes of Tariff item 196 (a) the heel is to be regarded as part of the
sole, and (b) fabrics made of cotton or linen, irrespective of the weave, are to be regarded as canvas,
and (c) soles consisting principally of rubber but with an admixture of cork are to be regarded
as rubber soles”.
Dressing cases, being small leather or leatherette containers, without handles, containing brush,
comb, mirror, and other toilet articles.
Dressing cases, womens’ handbags, purses, and vanity bags, of leather or leathercloth, fitted with
handles, even if containing articles which if imported separately, would be dutiable at a different
rate.
Ornaments, including replicas in miniature of the human figure or of animals, floral clusters, and
floral brooches or sprays, moulded in chinaware, &c.
Reflectors or shades, glass, for electric lamps, even if of silvered glass.
Timers, electric or spring actuated, used for timing photographic, cooking, and other operations.
Bags, net, for bowls.
Organs, electric, pipeless, having two or more manuals, including synchronous electric motors,
amplifiers, and loud speakers, being standard equipment therefor when imported therewith.
Organs, electric, pipeless, having only one manual, including synchronous electric motors, amplifiers,
and loudspeakers, being standard equipment therefor, when imported therewith.
Gramophone units declared by a manufacturer for use by him solely for making (not repairing)
gramophones and radio gramophones.

Printers and enlargers, projection, including the stands or copyholders therefor.
Replicas of the human figure or of animals, in miniature, composed of wood, bone, or metal, and
not being watch chain pendants or similar articles.
Board made from laminated or compressed paper impregnated with synthetic resin, plain coloured,
or having an all-over pattern and whether or not containing a thin layer of metal foil, in rectangular
sheets, unworked, but not including such board veneered with wood.
Tape, cellulose, adhesive.
Tympan paper, an oiled manilla casing for packing the cylinders of printing presses.
Castors, swivel, other than tea-wagon castors, having wheels of an extreme diameter not exceeding
4 inches and a wheel face not exceeding 1½ inches, the wheels being composed of a rubber com-
position surrounding a metal or vulcanite hub, or of a metal or vulcanite hub, rubber tired.
Castors, swivel, other than tea wagon castors, wholly of metal and having wheels not exceeding
2 inches in extreme diameter.
Castors, tea wagon, all sizes.
Push type or hand lawn mowers, all kinds.
Rotary arm and revolving head types.
Thermostats for fitting to water circulating systems to control the flow therein.
The note to the decision on “Lighting plants consisting of an oil engine, electric generator, switch-
board and batteries”, reading “The oil engine is to be classed separately under Tariff item
352”.
Float switches, by means of which the level of water operates a circuit maker and breaker to control
pumps, boiler feed water regulators, automatic stokers, &c. (floats, counterweights, ropes, pulleys,
and weights, if imported as spares or separately are to be classed under their appropriate Tariff
items).
Switches, automatically operated.
Thermo-electric switches for gas water heaters.
Thermostatic controls of the type used in electric irons, when imported otherwise than in association
with parts of electric irons.
Thermostats which control electric current by operating a switch or circuit maker and breaker.
Thermostats, Satchwell immersion type.
Furnaces, electric crucible, for melting gold (temperature controllers or rheostats are to be classed
separately under Tariff item 338 (2)).
Adaptors or lampholders to enable a screw lamp to be used with a bayonet socket or vice versa.
Display stands, shop window, being neon tubes moulded to various shapes and mounted on pedestals
which enclose the necessary transformers (transformers are to be classed separately under Tariff
item 338 (1)).
Electrode sockets, being porcelain housings for supporting the glass tubes in neon signs.
Electrodes for making neon signs.
Lamp fixtures, being hanging or other permanently fixed electric light fittings.
Lampholders for incandescent filament type lamps, with or without switches and/or flashers in-
corporated therein.
Speedometers, including cables (with fittings attached), gear boxes, and gear rings therefor.
Rims, drop centre and semi-drop centre types, demountable, for use on tractors and agricultural
implements.
