Revoking a Warrant Consenting to Erection of “Stop” Signs and Consenting to Erection of “Stop” Signs by the Petone Borough Council

———

PURSUANT to clause (5) of regulation 3 of the Traffic Sign Regulations 1937, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke the Warrant dated the 9th day of January 1950* which applies to the erection of signs of Class E by the Petone Borough Council, and doth hereby consent to the erection of signs of Class E by the Petone Borough Council at the places described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Petone Borough: At places near the intersections of Jackson Street with the following streets to indicate to the driver of a vehicle emerging from any of the latter streets that before entering the intersection he shall stop his vehicle and otherwise comply with the provisions of the Traffic Regulations 1936 relating to “Stop” signs.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

———

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors, shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—

A motor-drivers’ licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to any one of the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the respective employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

———

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Driver Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36

———

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rangitikei County: All that area adjacent to Marton Borough consisting of that portion of the road known as Wing Line, commencing at the eastern boundary of Marton Borough, and terminating at a point 20 chains measured along the said road in a south-easterly direction from the said boundary.

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (5) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950, the Minister of Transport doth hereby alter the Mount Wellington Road Board’s proposed classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Mount Wellington Road District, and doth hereby approve such altered classification as described in the said Schedule.

IT is hereby notified that cloud flying between the heights of 2,500 ft. and 10,000 ft. will take place in the area entirely over the sea known as the “Taieri Cloud Flying Area”, being the area described in the Schedule hereunder. All aircraft using this area will be duly authorized for this purpose by the Commanding Officer, R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Taieri.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

Mairangi Service Station, Ltd., corner of Sidmouth Street and Beach Road, Mairangi Bay, via Milford, Auckland, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on service-station and garage premises at corner of Sidmouth Street and Beach Road, Mairangi Bay, via Milford, Auckland.

Wellington Co-op. Taxi Owner-drivers Society, Ltd., corner of Bute and Vivian Streets, Wellington, has applied for permission to resell motor-spirit to the public from three pumps already installed on premises at corner of Bute and Vivian Streets, Wellington.

Blue Star Taxis (Christchurch), Ltd., 287 Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch, has applied for permission to resell motor-spirit to the public from two pumps already installed on premises at 287 Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 13 December 1951, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.
