Declaring Lands in South Auckland, Wellington, and Otago Land Districts Vested in the Auckland, Wanganui, and Otago Education Boards as Sites for Public Schools, to be Vested in His Majesty the King

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act, 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any school-site or part of a school-site which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be vested in His Majesty; and thereupon the school-site, or part thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in His Majesty freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date of the proclamation:

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the said Act, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Auckland Education Board, the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Wanganui Education Board, and the lands described in the Third Schedule hereto, being areas vested in the Otago Education Board, as sites for public schools, shall be vested in His Majesty the King, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 3 roods 14 perches, more or less, being Lot 3 of Section 6, Block I, Harataunga Survey District. (S.O. plan 4745A.)

SECOND SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block I, Oroua Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 4 perches, more or less, being Lots 5 and 6 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington under No. 147, being part Sub-division F, Manchester Block, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 76, folio 41 (Wellington Registry).

THIRD SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

SECTION 51, Block IX, Glenomaru Survey District: Area, 15 acres and 34 perches, more or less. (S.O. plan 539.)

Section 13, Town of Ratanui; Area, 10 acres and 9 perches, more or less. (S.O. plan 891 TN.)

All those areas containing by admeasurement a total of 2 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Lots 18 to 26 inclusive as shown on a plan of the Township of Waitepeka deposited in the Deeds Registry Office at Dunedin under No. 172, being part Section 2, Block XXXIII, Clutha Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Volume 258, folios 191 and 197 (Otago Registry), (limited as to parcels and title).
