Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Otamatea County (Notice No. Ag. 5150)

THE following special order, made by the Otamatea County Council on the 19th day of September 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Otamatea County Council resolves, by way of special order, that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto be declared noxious weeds within the County of Otamatea.

SCHEDULE

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Gorse (Ulex, all species).
Manchurian wild rice (Zizania latifolia).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).

THE following special order, made by the Mackenzie County Council on the 7th day of September 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Counties Act 1920 and the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Council of the Mackenzie County hereby resolves, by way of special order, that the following weeds be declared noxious throughout the whole of the Mackenzie County, namely :—

  1. Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
  2. Burdock (Arctium, any species).
  3. Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
  4. Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma).
  5. Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans).
  6. St John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum).
  7. Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus).
  8. Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).

Administration of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 in the Weber County (Notice No. Ag. 5155)

THE following resolution, passed by the Weber County Council on the 12th day of October 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.

RESOLUTION

THAT the Weber County Council hereby resolves to assume responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act within its district.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Dannevirke County Council hereby declares that—

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus),
Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum),
Bathurst bur (Xanthium spinosum),
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare),
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea),
Gorse (Ulex, any species),
Hemlock (Conium maculatum),
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum),
Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans),
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea),
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa),
St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum),
Star thistle (Centaurea calcitrapa)

are noxious weeds within the County of Dannevirke.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply :—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors, shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to any one of the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the respective employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.

PURSUANT to the Regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.
