Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work, and Not Required for That Purpose, to be Crown Land

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948.
SCHEDULE
Approximate area of the piece of land declared to be Crown land: 1 acre and 1·06 perches.
Being Lots 2, 3, and 4, D.P. 15437, being part of Subdivision A, Manchester Block, situated in the Borough of Feilding, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 515, folio 64 (Wellington Land Registry).
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 23rd day of October 1951.

Crown Land Set Apart for Irrigation Purposes (Raceman’s Cottage) in Block XI, Spaxton Survey District

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for irrigation purposes (raceman’s cottage); and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 29th day of October 1951.

Approximate area of the piece of Crown land set apart: 1 acre 3 roods 38 perches.
Being part Rural Section 26236.
Situated in Block XI, Spaxton Survey District (Canterbury R.D.). (S.O. 8393.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 135544, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Consenting to the Advancing by the Matamata County Council of the Sum of One Thousand Five Hundred pounds (£1,500) Out of Its County Fund and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of October 1951.

Whereas the Matamata County Council (hereinafter called the said local authority) proposes to undertake certain capital works,—namely, the provision of a fire-engine for the benefit of a defined portion of its district known as the Tokoroa Fire Services Special Rating Area:
And whereas the said local authority being desirous, in lieu of raising the moneys by special loan for such works, of advancing the sum required therefor—namely, one thousand five hundred pounds (£1,500) (hereinafter called the said sum)—out of its County Fund, pursuant to the provisions of section 45 of the Finance Act 1933 (No. 2), has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926 (hereinafter called the said Act), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given to the advancing of the said sum:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 11 of the said Act, as set out in section 29 of the Finance Act 1932 (No. 2), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the advancing by the said local authority out of its County Fund, pursuant to the provisions of section 45 of the Finance Act 1933 (No. 2), for the particular benefit of the ratepayers of the said Tokoroa Fire Services Special Rating Area of the said sum or any part thereof, and in giving consent hereby determines that the moneys so advanced, together with interest thereon at such rate not exceeding three pounds five shillings (£3.5s.) per centum per annum as the said local authority shall from time to time determine, shall be recouped to the County Fund by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over a period not exceeding fifteen (15) years.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 5154)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of October 1951.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
Whereas by section 31 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district:
And whereas the district known as the Southern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section 31 of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by including an additional area therein:
And whereas the consent of a majority of the persons in such additional area qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for the said district has been given to the inclusion of such additional area in the said district:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby—
(1) Alters and redefines the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid;
(2) Declares that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, further,
(3) Declares that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE
Boundaries of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay and Wellington Land Districts comprising the Weber and Dannevirke Counties, and parts of the Woodville, Patangata, and Pahiatua Counties, as now constituted, and bounded as follows: commencing at a point on the summit of the Ruahine Range, being the northernmost point of the Dannevirke County; thence proceeding generally in a south-easterly direction along the northern and eastern boundaries of the Dannevirke County, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1926, page 126, to the north-eastern corner of Section 5, Block XV, Mangatoro Survey District; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 5, Block XV, Mangatoro Survey District, to its intersection with the northernmost corner of Section 1, Block XVI, Mangatoro Survey District; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the Patangata County, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1927, page 2929, to the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block I, Tautane Survey District; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of Block 58, Tautane Crown Grant District, Lot I, D.P. 117, Blocks 55, 30, 26, 21, 50, 26, and 49 of the said Tautane Crown Grant District, and Lots 5, 9, and 11, D.P. 1215, to the sea at Arataura; thence southerly and westerly along the sea-coast to the southernmost corner of Lot 1 on a plan numbered 2119 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the generally south-western and north-western boundaries of the said Lot 1 to the southern boundary of Weber County; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of the Weber and Dannevirke Counties, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1921, page 583, and New Zealand Gazette, 1926, page 126, respectively, to the north-east corner of Section 43, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District; thence along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the said Section 43, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District, and along the south-western and western boundaries of Section 36, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District, to the southern boundary of Dannevirke County described as aforesaid; thence westerly along that boundary to the eastern boundary of Woodville County, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1928, at pages 1168 and 1169; thence southerly, westerly, and northerly generally along the boundary of the Woodville County, described as aforesaid, to the southern boundary of Block XIII, Tahoraite Survey District; thence westerly along that southern boundary to the south-eastern corner of Section 5, Block IX, Woodville Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of the said Section 5, a distance of 791·3 links; thence through Sections 2, 4, and 1 (E.R.), Block II, Makuri Survey District, Pahiatua County, by right lines as delineated on plan marked L.S. 92/327, deposited in the office of the Department of Agriculture, Wellington, to the southern boundary of the aforesaid Section 5, Block IX, Woodville Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Block IX, Woodville Survey District, to the middle-line of the Manawatu River; thence down the middle of the Manawatu River to the north-western boundary of Block XIV, Woodville Survey District; thence northerly along the north-western boundaries of Blocks XIV, XVI, and XV, Woodville Survey District, to Trig. Station No. 60A (Whariti), on the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence along the summit of the Ruahine Range to the point of commencement.
